  • this is a picture! holy hell….i suck at these descritptions

  • Nature provides me with many materials to create my painterly abstracts. Given the myraid of imagery in bark, rocks, plants and other natural forms, sometimes I feel like the camera is my brush. Some of nature’s elements provide more hidden illustrations under the veneer of peeling park. This bark abstract is a good example. The small part of the tree that I photographed had great texture, colors and imagery to inspire your imagination. I am interested in your projections on this canvas and the more you look the more images appear. The first image I saw was a feline on the top center moving toward the right. There are usually faces like the large textured blue head on the far left and right. The large images usually pop out at me before I take the photograph and when I spend time looking at the smaller images, I see a microcosm of a village. Sally Omar’s poetic vision adds a wonderful dimension to this image. She is a gifted poet on RB and if you have not read her poetry, I highly recommend that your enjoy her eloquent words. Every tree tells a story..that is for sure / It shows me a picture and opens a door / A man on horseback is what I see / The horse in a raging fit on the tree / Not happy he saw a wolf on the lane / Afraid he might hurt him..in mental pain / The man tries to calm him but to no avail / He cannot get him to move on the trail / The horse eventually will calm down / The wolf will ignore him and walk around / The man will lovingly understand / Because the horse has a soul similar to man / Sally Omar /

  • My first experiment in using the 3D version of Apophysis, and I still consider it my best piece using the program to date. I was trying to create a view of the microscopic, the world contained inside of a water droplet. Created in Apophysis 3D.

  • You might be stepping on someone else…

  • This dandelion seed was the very first macro shot I took with my first digital camera and it simply blew me away. I’ve found it looks great as a card. The intricate microcosm of the Creation when viewed through the macro lens keeps me coming back for more. It was this simple dandelion see, which appeared exactly as you see it here straight from the camera, which captivated me, entranced me and returned me to this passion from years gone by.

  • its a mighty miracle / a moist miracle / in microcosm / I see it again I see the world / tiny and small / wrapped up / upside down / about to fall holding on / just / by the skin / of its bubble

  • No, you’re not seeing double – I’ve uploaded another format of this photo, specifically for the “card” print option. This photo is also available in my calendar . See the entire collection: Colour Of Life Calendar

  • Made in Ultra Fractal 5. This looked like something you would see under a microscope, thus the name.

  • Bleached white by many summers’ blazing sun and natural alkali, one bit of timber thrusts from beneath spring flood waters. No trees have ever grown here; this is but a fragment of scattered remains left by some long-ago man’s effort to carve out an existence here. Featured on / Nature’s Reclamation / (2009.JUL.29) / American Southwest / (2009.MAR.18) Northern Steptoe Valley / Eastern Nevada / (2009.MAR.07) RedBubble Album: High Desert Oases Canon 350D EOS / Tamron 55/200mm / Corel PhotoImpact x3

  • The Palm tree trunks I usually photograph are flat and translate / into beautiful abstracts. Using a macro lens I shot a group of / Palm trees and their trunks were very old, splitting apart / creating a dimensional surface. It amazes me that a shot / of a small section of a tree can create such a vivid microcosm. / I wonder what lies behind the rust door? The door is integrated / into a profile of a man’s head. Would you enter to / explore or play it safe and retreat in this unfamiliar world? Please / view this piece in the large format to appreciate the imagery / and details of this mysterious landscape. On the far right / is the face of a man. His hair blends into the cliff and / is sticking straight up. Is this friendly cartoon-like image / an illusion to distract us from danger. There also is a face / on the far left with mouth open and a hooked nose. / The rumor is that she was cast out of witch world. What / do you perceive?

  • An impression of the microscopic world, imaginary.
