  • Filling up a glass of water and noticed this out of the kitchen window. Literally ran outside with a t-shirt and slippers on to get this before it went. First few shots were a golden amber in color then it went to this before it disappeared. Only snapped about 30 bracketed shots before it was gone. Gonna go a repot my orchid while this is uploading (and I finished it, thanks dial-up). Hope you like it. Please critique… print available here and on my website. • Dawn on Lake Michigan on the north side of Chicago.

  • Sunrise on the Chicago skyline with Lake Michigan aglow. The 3 block rocks were covered with a coating of ice and along with the posts reminded me of Stonehenge. Worked in Layers by placing two widely different exposed images on top of each other and removing parts of one image to leave the deep colors of the sky and keep the highlighted icy block rocks. This done using Adobe Photoshop CS3.

  • This image was taken in the Sleeping Bears Dune National Park. This is the Platte River near the mouth of Lake Michigan. The Platte River cuts through this park. Thank you for viewing and your time. This park is located in the state of Michigan, USA.

  • January 2009…featured in Experimental Photography and Editing There’s my Gia sitting there eating some apple chips and there come the seagulls. I swear they smell food from miles away. It’s too funny! There are literally like 30 of them flying around us waiting for us to give them food. I could have cropped out the 2 sisters to the right of the photo but i love the older one’s reaction to all the birds that were flying around.

  • March 2009…featured in Outsiders Lake Michigan, Chicago Olympus E-410 / Zuiko 40-150mm lens

  • I finally redid the HDR on this one. Hope everyone likes it. I totally dig it although the I kept the original darker one as my desktop picture (cause it looks great on my mac but apparently is too dark on a PC). Rock on all and let me know what you think. Seriously please critique this one for me. This photo has been driving me nuts since the original HDR was too dark. 5 exposure HDR processed in photomatix. Unsharp mask in GIMP. Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi / Shutter Speed: 160/100 second / F Number: F/14.0 / Focal Length: 18 mm / ISO Speed: 100 / Date Picture Taken: Apr 27, 2009, 3:02:11 AM Currently featured in Stream Crossings group and All Water in Motion group. Really appreciate the support. / /

  • Taken Above Bond Falls on the Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Along with the main waterfall there are numerous smaller water features on the way down to the main attraction. Nikon d300, 18-200. 1.8(6 stop) neutral density filter, and of course, a tripod

  • “Mackinac Bridge” with early morning fog rolling over! I took so many stages of fog going over the bridge. I decided to try a textured one.The Mackinac Bridge is currently the third longest suspension bridge in the world. The bridge also connects Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas.

  • My daughter was up Saturday and we decided to head to the lake, as we got to the beach, everyone was running for their cars..letting us know that the storm was coming..we thought it looked amazing so we went down to the water and watched this huge storm cloud coming in..beautiful cloud formation..lots of thunder…and wind…lightning in the distance..just nature at its best..it never rained on us, we watched it for a good 20 minutes..as we got in the van to leave the rain came down in buckets.. / Taken at Philips Park on Lake Huron between Caseville and Port Austin.. / Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR lens /

  • Wawatam Lighthouse at the entrance to the Marina in St. Ignace in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It stands at the end of an old railroad dock which was once used to load railroad cars onto a ferry to transport them between the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan. The city of St. Ignace has renamed he lighthouse after the 338-foot Chief Wawatam rail car ferry. It rises 52 feet in the air at the end of a newly constructed Huron Boardwalk and serves as a sentinel to the city’s marina. The beacon projects 13.2 miles over Lake Huron and will serve as a navigational aid to boaters. This lighthouse was acquired from the Monroe Michigan Welcome Center in 2004, was moved to St. Ignace in five sections, and went operational on August 20th, 2006.
