water color on cotton canvas
This is a highly-detailed, vibrantly colored piece inspired by Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. I combined the simplified black outline of a skull with my usual funky abstract style to create an artwork that is vivid, boisterous, and jubilant. I like the paradoxical juxtaposition of the classic image of death and mortality – the skull – portrayed amidst colorful abstract forms and intricate designs, which express the fullness and joy of life. You can see more of my artwork at my website, http://www.thaneeya.com.

In a sleepy backlighted street in San Jose Del Cabo, while walking to a parking place, this eerie, yet brightly colored bistro appeared out of nowhere.
Any one who has ever drunk Tequila knows Don Julio as the best. this image seems to show someone who had several too many the day after.
This tree is growing in a park in Cuautitlán, Estado de México, México. Photo taken March 2009 I think this tree is the Caesalpinia Mexicana or perhaps it is a Cassia species. If you recognize the species, please let me know.

Karina is one of Gerardo’s cousin and we’ve known each other for a few years now. She is wearing some shiny jewelry and a pretty pink crochet blouse.
