  • Fitzroy melbourne australia

  • Taken in a back alley of Fitzroy – looking towards the back of the shops that face Brunswick street. This rusty old shed on the right recently sold for approx $600k

  • Snapped this guy walking past a colourful rolelrdoor in Chinatown – used PS and some plugins to warp and bubble the colours behind him.

  • An old Holden I snapped in the backstreets of Fitzroy, Melbourne. Bit of obvious PS work on it. Texture overlays, used the PS warp tool to alter the chrome fender into tusks and the background was removed and replaced with something a little more thematic.

  • For some reason, I’m extremely proud of this image. I had a vision in my mind of exactly what I wanted and everything came together for me to be able to nail it.

  • Looking down Flinders street, Melbourne on a wintry afternoon.

  • Companion image to City Sunrise “I’ve always been attracted to the hinterland of reality.. that place close to abstraction. In this case any sense of reality is a construct.. it is realistic in the sense that aerials and masts etc are recognisable urban features but in another sense they are nothing more than scratches and scribbles that approximate to the actual objects. There is no actual place where this vista exists… although I have often seen bits of this pictures. This is the visual landscape I enjoy operating in.. recognisable to an extent but also almost entirely imagined. Its a place but not a place.. it has forms but not real forms… but you can probably say exactly the same of every work of art. Some people think that aiming at realism is somehow truer to the subject but every photographer knows that even the most realistic depictions can be altered and made super realistic or less realistic.” This is one of a series of pictures based on the City Sunrise pastel sketch. • Being an environmentally friendly artist.. I decided I wanted to make the city a little “greener”. My advice is get it printed big.. because 1) it looks rather excellent printed big.. and 2) I make more money. Imagine this on your wall in your living room.. and the neighbours saying “he’s not very good he can’t even draw straight lines !” This work is also available as a SIGNED LIMITED EDITION PRINT please contact me for further details Available as a signed limited edition print direct from artist. / This work is also included in my Digital Landscapes Calender.
