  • This has all the things wrong with it…lens flare being the major problem, but it illustrates why I ended up so so wet….they sneak up when you’re looking through the viewfinder. scream up the beach at a hundred miles an hour and slap you across the back….. You can also see the way the sky changed….Dicky dawn was shot before the sun came up, and those dark clouds were behind us….they moved over quite quickly as the sun rose. • The idea of ‘the butterfly effect’ comes from the science of chaos theory. It suggests that everything is connected, to the extent that the beating of a butterfly’s wings in one part of the world may ultimately contribute to a tornado happening in another part of the world. It strikes most of us as a fanciful notion – but it is more true than we realise, particularly when it comes to the environmemt A part of us dies if butterfly dies .

  • Imagine being born again. Only this time your mother is the earth and you come fully equipped with memories, knowledge and a belief system. What raw emotions are evoked when the first thing you are confronted with is an environment completely foreign to what you were expecting? / Fear, confusion, doubt and loneliness. / Or because of the new environment one may lose their inhibitions, feel joy or perhaps discover inner strength and courage. Maybe the nine images are a true metaphorical reflection of the artists soul? / His background and love for the stage and theatre. / His longing to find true love and a wanting audience. / The ongoing battle of time and money between industry and creative / fulfilment. Born from this earth, the series, everyone deserves a new beginning, a chance to start over. / / / Was priviledged to work with the beautiful Bronwen Hyde during the Aradale weekend and thank her greatly for her time, acceptence of my crazy ideas and her near perfect contortionist act to get into the metal duct! :D / This and another 2 images will be on display at the BSG Picture This exhibition that begins this Friday. / Much thanks also goes to Karen who mastered the art of throwing props in an instant! :) / / The weekend was a huge success and I thouroughly enjoyed spending time with like-minded souls. / Massive thanks to the following for your muse, inspiration and collaboration… / Kara Rasmanis / Jenny Hall / John Robb / Matt Allan from Disenchanted / Melissa Kirkham / Jo O’Brien / James Price / Michael Alesich / Lucky Vegetable / khelltic / Bronwen Hyde / Karen / / Art Folders… / / Entire Portfolio / Born From This Earth – Series / Hearts At War / Vehicular works / Architecture / Travel / B&W Photography / Transitional Industrial Utopian Series / Abstract / Models and Fashion Photography

  • I’ve made a substantial donation to the Red Cross already, but the proceeds from any sales this month will also be sent to them. Here in Qld there’s been severe flooding, and in Southern Australia there’s been devastating fire. Canon 5D, 16-35mm at 16mm, f/6.3, 1/6”, ISO 50, Lee ND grads 0.9 and 0.6, tripod, anti personnel missiles… Another from the SS Dicky Series Seascapes / New Zealand / Frogs / Lensbaby / Infrared / Industrial / Spam / Panorama / Landscapes / Real Estate Series / People

  • Some artwork for the upcoming Drop To Zero cd coming this summer http://www.myspace.com/droptozero Can you feel them calling? Like a heart that’s built on loss, / Their prison keeps them hostage, / Star e out the car window and watch the mills that pass me by, / The pillars standing tall are lined with ghosts that speak from their dark eyes, / Can we call them wrong? Can we see through canine orbits? / Can we dance the devil’s dance and walk two steps in their shoes? / Desperate killers will hunt, / Fight now, try to keep up, / This town, souls that tried to hide from rain in paper towers, / Sunk down, treading in mud, / This town, lost are raising generations of the losing, / This west of Eden Yahweh had in mind, a city paved in blood of angels, / Can you hear them scatter? Like a roach caught in the light, / They burrow in the shadows, / I look to children’s eyes; they breed an emptiness in stare, / They grow to feed like dogs that eat the blood, breeding anger from despair, / Fallen down, hope that is gone, / Somehow, try to move on, / This town, valley where the damned are who find resolution, / The city burned down but the ghosts survived, smoldering rage on the inside

Best on Full Size This little copper kettle was on an ancient wood stove, located in one of the log cabins at Old Bedford Village in Bedford, PA. One of the interesting things about this wonderful village is the buildings and accessories are authentic to their time periods. It is my understanding that the homes and barns and churches are not reproductions, but are actual, once-working structures that have been moved to Old Bedford Village . Image taken wih the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter speed 1/10, aperture f/13.0, exp. -.33, iso 1000. No flash, natural light. Post processing included the addition of three textures in Photoshop, a light Orton technique and dodging and burning. Textures courtesy of Princess of Shadows at Deviant Art and Ghostbones on Flickr.
