I have always admired the simplicity and grace of these metal seats. Pleasing to the eye and almost noirish in nature.

This sculptural work was created with wire. It depicts the human figure in an expressive “reaching” stance, and the wire adds a gestural quality to the overall form. It is mounted to a primed foam base which compliments the form of the figure. Red latex paint was used as an accent of color, and to convey the flowing element of blood, which also enhances the emotional context of the piece. The dimensions of the work are approximately 9in.(in depth) X 12in.(in width) X 18in.(in height). It was produced in 2005. For the best detail please view as an enlarged image.

Metal Sculpture displayed on a gallery wall in Lahaina / Maui Hawai’i © 2008 Sharon Anne Mau “Let thy love play upon my voice and rest on my silence. Let it pass through my heart into all my movements. Let thy love like stars shine in the darkness of my sleep and dawn in my awakening. Let it burn in the flame of my desires. And flow in all current of my own love. Let me carry thy love in my life as a harp does its music, and give it back to thee at last with my life.” ~ Poetry and Songs by Rabindranath Tagore
This is my tribute to the video game, “Halo”. I started working on the image, making it look abstract, and the more I tweaked it, the more it reminded me of the game.

These mini metal sculptures, less than 4 centimeter square each, are the creations of Bathsheba Grossman (www.bathsheba.com). / My husband came across her website while researching the name of our son, Metatron. He had already decided on the name long before he was born having read it from a book. / Anticipating that people would ask questions about the name he started researching it, and that’s when we found these.
