Full view definitely needed :) This one is a bit special for me. The image is inspired by my favourite RB poet girlinthestars and my favourite poem, in her amazing collection, titled Mermaid. Significant for me, but you will have to read the whole poem to find some meaning for yourself :) Inspired, my friend Simon Muirhead was kind enough, to let me have complete artistic freedom to use one of his latest photos Flat Rock. This photo is perfect as the background of the image and Simon has become a bit of an expert at these fantastic, slow-shutter speed photos. Check out his gallery! Here is the poem: / Mermaid You always thought of me as a / Mermaid / In a sea of sharks / You thought they were always looking at me / So you were protective / Then you thought I was looking at them / So you became possessive / You believed there was a part of me I hid / That longed to be free / But truly, I didn’t / You didn’t know I hated being doused in / Salt water / It never charmed me / I tasted it so many times before / I knew better You’d always say / You’re so beautiful / How could you want only me? And then you’d stare off / Making some untrue comment Leaving me in the dark / With sharks / Circling me / Intoxicated by my lonely scent I’m sure you’ve heard / I found the love of my life / In a stream ..::Photo Credit::.. / Background / Sky / Mermaid / Sailor / Fin

Now it is! Thanks all!)
This fountain is in Carlton Gardens, Melbourne. I used a sepia filter and got down low. I basically took the shot through a garden bed – on my knees – I must have looked a little odd. The light was streaming through from behind the water…. /

Original drawing scanned and the Christmas decorations added. This was drawn by me when I was very young. I actually used this image for my Christmas Cards last year and added a few sparkley stars to the hair piece. it was well received.
AMPHITRITE was the goddess queen of the sea, the wife of King Poseidon. Some say she was one of the fifty Nereides, others an Okeanis, but most simply describe her as the female personification of the sea: the loud-moaning mother of fish, seals and dolphins. As such she was essentially the same as Thalassa. When Poseidon first sought Amphitrite’s hand in marriage, she fled his advances, and hid herself away near Atlas in the Ocean stream at the far ends of the earth. The dolphin-god Delphin eventually tracked her down and persuaded her to return to wed the sea-king. Artwork: Me Original image by the Very Talented Barssel Model the Beautiful TextureoftheSin
