A collage of photos taken around the city
Photography. Photo taken by me, of our pet Woody and myself!!!
Made as a gift for Laura (my cousin) to give her yoga teacher. Yes, you may recognise this from the Yoga centre in Newtown. This, or the other three that are a series. Inspired by henna designs and Indian fabric, as well containing every colour of the chakra system.
This shot was taken at Little River, at the bottom of the Cathedral Ranges in Victoria. Beautiful spot with 3 small inlets running into the main river under a bridge behind me….unfortunately no great vantage point on that angle, so this had to do. Also from this series: / Lush Little River /

My passion in photography is watching the sun rise and also sunsets. Michigan has beautiful sunrises and sunsets and many many lakes. The eagle is seen frequently. EXPERIMENTAL IN MERGING 2 IMAGES TOGETHER. IN THIS I USED A PHOTOGRAPH AND A PICTURE PAINTED IN COREL (THE EAGLE). i ERASED PARTS OF THE EAGLE’S WINGS TO GET THIS EFFECT, THEN MERGED THE EAGLE’S EYE DIRECTLY OVER THE SUN. i WANTED THE EAGLE TO BE TRANSPARENT AS TO SEE THE DETAIL OF THE PHOTO.

I merged two shots for this image, one of a male Northern cardinal and one of a female cardinal, and then I applied the Orton effect to give it a more dreamy effect. Just experimenting and having fun!
This is a composite of three photos, one of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana, one of a rosy sky taken in the Hidden Hills community near my home, and one of branches overhanging the LSU lakes in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The branches compose the background layer, with the rosy sky layered in through the Select and Paste method and then the church was selected from the third image using the Quick Selection tool, copied and finally pasted onto the background image. The use of the sliders in the Layers palette helped determine opacity of the overlays. To accentuate the branches I chose the Darken option in the layers palette which helped to really frame the picture. These are all just experimentations. I’m new at merging photos and working with layers, so please bear with me as I try to learn how to do this. Sure is lots of fun trying, though. (The state of Louisiana, unlike the other 49 states, is divided into parishes, not counties, an influence of the Catholic culture in the area. I live in St. Landry Parish; St. Landry Church is located in Opelousas which is the seat of the parish government).
Shot of the Moon with the words to the song “Aquarius”, originally sung on Broadway in the musical “Hair”, written in 1964; made even more famous by the 5th Dimension, in 1969. / The shot is for MIA’s newest challenge… Forty years ago, the intuitive words of a song called “Aquarius” brought the dawning of the new age into our collective awareness: / When the moon is in the Seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars. Then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars. / At dawn on February 14, the Cosmos actually embodies this perfect alignment to support our collective manifestation of love and peace and the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. We are offered cosmic support to re-membering who we really are, by a rare astrological concentration that brings together a number of planets together with the North Node (higher purpose) in Aquarius, which energizes and inspires the possibility for transcendental breakthrough and healing. / We measure our global sense of both space (longitude) and time (universal time – GMT) from the prime meridian located at Greenwich, England. We can perceive the collective influence of this momentous astrological event by looking at the alignment from this globally ‘centered’ perspective. When we do, something exquisite and extraordinary emerges. / At dawn, 2/14, the day dedicated to St. Valentine, the patron saint of Love, the Moon in Libra enters the seventh house of relationships. And Jupiter and Mars are aligned in Aquarius in the twelfth house of spiritual transformation. / The Aquarian chart reveals an incredible concentration of cosmic influences blending with the energies, with the presence of Chiron, the wounded healer, offering us the opportunity to heal the schisms that have separated us for so long. Neptune emphasizes collective humanitarian movements and the co-creation of social justice. And, the presence of the radiant Sun enlightens the entire alignment. Mercury also in the twelfth house, just beyond the cusp of Capricorn allies with transformational Pluto to communicate and anchor the SHIFT throughout our global structures and institutions. / The Moon in Libra (in the 7th house) emphasizes harmonious real-ationships; Venus in Aries (in the 1st house) energizes and empowers dynamic co-creativity. Whilst Saturn, the great task master, in opposition to Uranus, the unexpected awakener, is suggesting an ongoing confrontation as the dregs of the unsustainable paradigm reluctantly give way to the untested hope of the new, their placements in Virgo and Pisces brings practical altruism and visionary inspiration to the transition. / Not since 2/14/1962, has this alignment taken place, although the South Node was the energizing component, focusing on the past and taking a collective IN-Breath of possibility – with this 2009 alignment, with cosmic support, we are able to take a collective OUT-Breath and make it happen. / This alignment takes place at 7:25am for 18 minutes – I invite you, in the Universal Heart, to add your own intentions for love and peace and to co-create the dawning of the age of aquarius… / The second verse of the song: / Harmony and understanding, sympathy and trust abounding, no more falsehoods or derisions, golden living dreams of visions – magic crystal revelation and the minds true liberation… / Aquarius!!! / Aquarius

This special image is a result of an inspired team-work between my precious friend Ruth Palmer and me for the Live, Love, Dream group’s Challenge It was a great honor and lot’s of fun to work with Ruthie’s image. I figured that since her painting was so deeply grounded in excellence that there was no way I could spoil it by adding one of my photos to it… :) Her original painting is: / “Fun with Texture And Patterns” / and my photo has a simple black butterfly on it… actually it is so plain that I didn’t even bother uploading it. I think the result came out quite well.
