Wye River at dawn … just off the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia.
La Rue Obscure is the oldest street in the old town of Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera, between Nice and Monaco. It was built on virgin soil at the beginning of the 13th century. La Rue Obscure formed the basis of the rest of the town’s construction on the slopes rising from this coastal lane. It gave inhabitants of the town certain refuge against possible attacks. The ship captains who were forced by storms to anchor in the bay, could make necessary repairs in safety. La Rue Obscure also welcomed precious merchandise, such as wine, in its cellars.

Just as common as it’s cousin, the mermaid, but far less popular is the maid-mer. / Sailors will never be mystified by their beauty and Disney will never make a movie about them – but boy are they good eating!

Although not the Disney version, the Hans Christian Andersen version, in which they’re a little wilder and more ethereal, and she dissolves into foam at the end. This was quite fun, I played with very washed out paint for the water and foam, it needs less blending after. / The tail is metallic paint, the hair is a mix. The eyes were annoying.
