  • The Story Underneath the Tree

  • A very old analouge negative taken on Boxing Day some twenty odd years ago. This girl was living with my younger sister in Darlinghurst in Sydney at the time and yes there were drugs involved. Neither of them survived the experience. All I have left is some very old photo’s and my memories. To death us do drug. Was that a challenge, a motto or a promise. I could never work it out.

  • I bought these old letters at an antique mart in Buenos Aires, Argentina back in February 2006. I set a few of them up against this old box that I have to create this image. I hope it inspires someone to NOT send an e-mail and pick up a pen to write a handwritten letter or postcard. I feel I am one of the few who still loves sending mail via the regular postal channels. Sold 1 matted print to a writer in Pittsburg, PA.

  • Peter Van Straten is one of South Africas most talented and collectable artists. Peter is mentioned in the collectors guide to South African Art. His work is avidly collected by both local and International buyers. Peter creates mystic, surreal paintings of exquisite timeless beauty. His preferred medium is oils. The transcendental luminosity of Peters work is fully captured in these atmospheric images. View more of Peters and other artists work at defineart.co.uk

  • This creation has been inspired by the Traditional Irish Song : Skibbereen. I focused here on the old and happy times while they where living in Skibbereen, in Dear Ireland. / It’s like an instant shot of the father’s memory, when he was happy, he remembers the good days when his wife was alive. / We all have photographies of people we love. That’s what i wanted to show here, a positive touch while the song is so sad! . Yet sold 1 poster and 1 card of this creation. My gallery is Copyright © Wandering Soul. • Louis sitting on our washing machine with his fav. toy… He has had this ‘tigger ‘since he was born and still sleeps with him or grabs him when he’s upset… this was taken the week before he started school (which was a really big deal for me)...

  • Canon 1Ds MKIII / 70-200mm L HDR image from 3 different exposures. Sold as Matted Print to an unknown RB buyer, thank you!

  • I did a number of versions of this still life – in the end I closed my eyes and chose one at random! One does get a tad jaded after looking at these images for too long! Landscapes Trees Cards EOD Rusty Flowers Architecture Macro CatchAll DM

  • A few little things of my Gran’s. The little camera is a 1946 Ensign. It was a very popular camera back in her day. A great first camera for the kids..If anybody knows where I can get some film for it here in Australia I’d love to hear from you

  • Holmdel, NJ – Oct 2008 – HDR, taken as a 2 frame, 3 exposure, panorama, as my lens wasn’t wide enough. / Suburban Scenes by Mike Savad

  • I could not sleep last night and was out before the sun doing some shooting. I made my way to this old house as the sun was beginning to rise up and greet me. I plan to go back with Dana and shoot the inside this weekend. Just seemed stupid to go in by myself. It is awfully messed up and no one knew where I was. / I Love these old houses. So many things they could tell us… Shot with Sony A-100

  • A photograph of my daughter Shae Lauren. The makeup was done by my daughter Kaila / This is one in a series of photos that was taken on the same day as “day dreaming” natural sun shine

  • Thanks for Looking! /

  • Toddler leaning on soldier’s gravestone at a National Military Cemetery in the United States. This is one of those moments when I felt I was destined to be at this place at this moment in time. Nikon F3, 300mm f2.8 EDAF lens, Kodachrome 25

  • Featured in Dimensions September 13, 2009. / Featured in HDR Photography September 3, 2009. / Featured in Image Writing (2/24) September 3, 2009. Best on Full Size I’m always fascinated by architecture … especially that which has seen better days. The stories these buildings could tell!!! This wonderful old stairway is located to the side of Dilbert’s General Merchandise which, it is my understanding, is soon to be torn down. It is located in Pavia, Pennsylvania, just off route 869. I took this hand-held image on February 22, 2009, in freezing temps during a light snowstorm with the Nikon D40x and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter was 1/125, aperture was 5.6, exp was .33, iso was 400. Post processing included hdr in Photomatix from 3 duplicated images at -/+2 eval. Companion piece to Dilbert’s General Merchandise

  • This sister image is here and there you will find a story littered with history and love… I had to take all this photo’s upside down as the wind kept blowing them up the wrong way! was quite interesting… don’t you just love old photo’s.. nowadays these textured and edited pictures are our “old” images but the real old ones are far better! :) Featured on the feature page / Young Enthusiasts / Featured Features
