.....Ok, so this is actually in Coburg…sadly this funny old building is in the process of being dismantled. So many buildings I photo no longer exist in the physical….I guess thats called “Progress”
My Pentax K100D camera peered into the sky and captured darkness and light. The shadows in between two skyscrapers in Melbourne. This image has not been adjusted.
Reflection of a building provides a distorted view of the world. The shape of the windows and the features on the facade of the reflected building help to exaggerate the distortion. / / Camera – Canon 350D / Lens – 24-85mm USM / Focal length – 60mm / Exposure – Apeture Priority / Aperture – f/8 / Shutter – 1/200 seconds / ISO – 400 / / © Andrew Brown Cards / Urban and Architecture / Panorama / Landscape / Portraiture / Macro /
an image capturing the factors that impact on the “quality” of a photographic image. A window, glass, made opaque due to medium density housing regulations, dirty due to water restrictions, the sky and sunshine still fall on the fence that seperates us from strangers. The camera captures this everyday scene, the negative has imperfections, dust attaching itself to its surface during drying, or is pressed between it and the glass during scanning. The scanned image once again “loses” some of what was originally visible, printing the image again brings in imperfections in paper and ink. Yet even with these limitations and imperfections, the power and essence of the image remains. photographer: Chris Zissiadis / camera: Holga 120N
Taken in one of Melbourne’s alleyways. I was attracted to the lovely red light inside contrasting with the grunge in the outside.
Here is a photo I took this evening when I went to watch the sunset with hubby and the kids, it was such a beautiful sunset tonight so I though I would share, I have a few others but I might upload them in the next few days. Sold: Cards and medium mounted print of Last Light :o) Thank you !!!

This is a view of my wall behind my computer with the light coming through my blind in the afternoon. I love the little patterns it makes on the wall and I couldn’t decide which one I liked most so I had to make a triptych. I hope you enjoy it too!
Had a fantastic time at the abandoned Aradale Asylum, I think I’m cured, lol. Loads of thanks to everyone who was there for making it an incredibly great experience. Big thanks to Melissa Kirkham for organising this opportunity for us! Here’s a little experimenting I did with timelapse and long exposure in one of the hundreds of rooms there.

Another shot of the buildings in Federation Square, Melbourne, Australia – this one was taken inside the cavernous entrance area. I have saturated the color a little to highlight the very blue impression of this interior. / / Shot with Nikon D80 handheld indoors 1/50sec, f/4.5, 42mm, ISO 250
Should definitely be viewed LARGE! THIS PIECE IS AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE AS A: / • Card / • Canvas Print / • Framed Print / • Laminated Print / • Matted Print / • Mounted Print / • Poster

A few weeks back I was all organized to do a landscape photography clinic at the Pinnacles with a school group as part of their outdoor Ed course. Unfortunately the day it was to happen was one of heat and high winds and with the Black Saturday fires still burning the government placed a blanket ban on all school camps state wide. Originally the clinic was to be held on Phillip Island so I did the conscientious thing and drove all the way down there staying overnight to get a sunset and sunrise and scope out locations properly. When this fell through we re-organised a bay location so I spent another afternoon evening scouting locations and ended up at MT Eliza, Pelican Point being my favorite spot. I’ve now been on two field trips and on top of that spent 20+ hours writing a nine page handout and prepared a 130 page powerpoint presentation on the assurance that the photography clinic would be re-scheduled. My thanks for all this effort has been to have my phone and email messages ignored when I’ve tried to reschedule the date of the clinic. The fact he doesn’t even have the common decency to even let me know whats happening I find appalling, even if this was just to say we’ll do it next year. Still I loved every minute of my two field trips and got some shots I’m really happy with. Just disappointed that my efforts and fee have come to naught. Nikon D70s; Sigma 18-200mm lens; f/3.5; 1/125sec; 18mm focal length; minor edit for contrast only. Mick and I took our cameras for a stroll through town today, and I lingered a while at this shopfront, pondering about the tie as a symbol of male power and status, and the reflected glass ceiling.
