  • Melbourne City after twilight from Princes Bridge. / Viewed from Southbank on the Yarra River 1.5hrs after sunset. Melbourne is a very pretty city at night with lots of memorable locations. / 30D, 24-70L,mirror lock-up+timer,24mm, 1/15th, f/11,iso100. I’d left my tripod at home so ended up balancing the camera and propping the lens with a Malteeses choclate box. made from two photo’s, one shot above and then another below to capture the view and also to boost detail for print.

  • An old 1930’s Mercedes Benz on exhibition at NGV (National Gallery of Victoria) in Melbourne. This car was a V8 had automatic transmission and went from 0 – 100kmph in only 16 seconds! haha how times change! Background desaturated in Photoshop and Gaussian Blur applied to background layer.   • Found this lurking in a hard drive. Taken from the Eureka tower last year just before they banned cameras in ‘The Edge’ – a glass ‘box’ that extends out from the top floor and hangs over the city 92 floors below. This image was taken through the floor of ‘The Edge’. I adjusted the levels aggressively and burned the reflections of the people to make them stand out more. /

Mick and I took our cameras for a stroll through town today, and I lingered a while at this shopfront, pondering about the tie as a symbol of male power and status, and the reflected glass ceiling.
