Click on the images below for a more detailed close-up / / “Finches On Parade” is about the communal abstract chatter that one encounters when in amongst a crowd of like-minded personalities. / I have chosen not to emphasize the precise detail of each bird but rather their general shape as they caper around, to give the impression of constant movement. Conte Crayon on paper. This one is inspired by my favourite work, “Collins Street at 5 pm” by John Brack. I was thinking of Flinders Street/ Spencer Street Stations when I drew this. I just used to get lost in the human sea of faces that use to flow up and down Melbournes Streets and they conjured up all sorts of feelings and emotions.

This stencil was created in early 2008 inspired by fashion photography and damp cold London. Recently cut stencil with one layer from an older stencil of a zebra in pink on her dress, with hand drawn cobbled stones. The canvas itself is 3 times in length this is just a mere snap shot of the original piece. This piece is 1 of 2, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is snow and umbrella.

I have tried to keep the butterfly and its shadow to scale to give the impression of a real butterfly about to land on someone’s T-shirt

This was taken around the middle of the day from the center of the World Heritage listed Melbourne Exhibition Building. I used a 19mm equivalent lens in order to get the whole center piece in, and made a real effort to to stand as directly under the center, and pointing as straight up as possible. To give you some idea of height of the roof , the tiny coloured spots in the center are actually helium balloons that have ascended to the highest point in the building (click for the zoom view to see them better). ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature Urban

Would love people’s opinions on this. I have started taking lots of photos of Melbourne’e laneways because I love them. i also like this effect, even if it can be considered cliched. I want to make the shot a bit more grungy but I feel I am almost there.

The Big 30! Today
by Carrie Glenn/ *The Big 30…30,000 views!!! WOW! I’m feeling old!...
/ The Big 30…30,000 views!!! WOW! I’m feeling old! LOL! No really, it’s great…no actually it’s fantastic! Thank you to each and every one who has become a part of my life, my views and even my artwork itself. Here are some of my favorite highlights since the last ten thousand miles… The biggest news I probably have to announce is the publishing of my artwork in “Artists of The West” book! It is a true milestone for me and a great personal success. It was an amazing project to be involved in and over a three year journey. I ended up making some great friends and contacts along the way and really bonded with everyone involved in the book. / After the release of the book there was some really exciting events to follow like the first book signing in St. Helens with the official release. / I am also doing a public book signing, autographs and a special unveiling of three of my new paintings at the Astoria Sunday Market later this month. The Astoria Sunday Market / / (Feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you’re interested or would like more information on the event) Also I am VERY excited to be a part of the RedBubble Rialto Towers art exhibit ironically also on July 27th the same date of my book signing in Astoria, Oregon! My work First Tree was chosen along with 40 other works of art to show in the foyer of the Rialto Towers for a two week art show! I am honored and thrilled to be showing my work alongside the other amazing artists and my RedBubble friends! I was also a part of some wonderful collaborations My collaboration piece Through The Past To The Future with my friend Michael Gatch was a total success and incredibly fun! It was inspired by his photo Through The Past / We had such a good time we did another one… / Apple Harvest which was inspired by Michael’s photo Old Apple When I looked at this work I saw the tree as the point of life that was celebrated and brought people and family together. I wanted to I take it back in time or to another time perhaps. I also had a fantastic collaboration with my dear friend Paul Hobday / I was really inspired by his photo Twisted and had a vision of what eventually became…The Other Side Of The Fence my newest work. Again THANK YOU to each of you who took the time to view my work, comment on my work and invest into me and my career. My art work is the road in this life that I have chosen to make a living on and really…it is my life. In each painting or drawing I create I try to leave a bit of myself to be shared with another person. / Thank you so much for supporting and embracing me and one of my true loves…art!
