Located in the township of Kilmore, 60kms north of Melbourne. / The Old Kilmore Gaol was opened in 1859 as a maximum security prison. / Over the years it has been restored, was open for a while as a museum, and now hosts antique auctions. All proceeds from the sale of this image will go to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal via the Phoenix Appeal

Behind the old building in North Melbourne, Victoria the actual school was located. It was used way back in the 70s when there was a four year apprenticeship to learn the trade of printing. It hasn’t been used for over ten years and now with only a few weeks to go the four story building is being pulled down.

The whole site is slowing being restored and converted and put to public use now that it is no longer a practicing Convent but lots of little bits of the original working building are there…. just waiting….. like here where I put my camera right up to the crack in a door and wondered what I’d get….. and this shot is it…. through the gap in the door is a beautiful space waiting to be tidyed up a it and brought back to life…... / . / . /
