A bustling, VERY early morning market (cho) not far from Ben Tre, in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Because of the heat and lack of refrigeration, locals must buy everything fresh. The sights, sounds … and smells of this market were fabulous!

Near Kratie it is a wonderful environment. / On both sides of the Mekong the countryside is beautiful and the people are very friendly. / There is a small island in the Mekong, on wich you can come with a “ferry”. / We have explored the island by bicycle, and we met this farmer. / He worked with his oxes on a small plot and for that he used this simple tool. / In Dutch this tool is called a “rolblok” (role block…?) / It is used to break the rough blocks of soil; that creates a better seedbed.
