Stop and relax. Let your mind and body slow down. Reflect only on the cool peaceful things. Close your eyes and think of only the sound of the stream. The leaves resting on their journey to nowhere. The coolness of the air on your skin. Let the beat of your heart slow. Poppies are a symbol for remembrance. We remember those who have given their lives on behalf of others, especially in conflict. These were in the parish church at Burnsall, in the Yorkshire Dales. My wife’s family has a connection with the church and we were visiting in remembrance of her grandfather who had been Church Warden there at the end of WWII. The church was very peaceful and this scene caught my eye. If you are ever in the area it is well worth a visit as it has a small museum nside with artefacts found locally showing the early life of the first settlers in the area, going back to pre-historic times and also covering the early Christian history. St. Wilfrid preached on the banks of the Wharfe over 1300 years ago and a wooden church was soon established on the site of the present building. Worship has continued to this day and St. Wilfrid’s is now a thriving church which has regular Sunday worship based manly on the traditional service and also family worship. The church houses a very important collection of ancient stones. Thanks to a lot of hard work and funding from various bodies, these stones are now part of a fantastic display “Vikings in Burnsall”. This display can be visited at any time during the day. Amongst the stones are various crosses and hog backed tombs. There are guides (in different languages) and an audio guide will be available from May 10th 2005. Also of interest is the 15th Century alabaster panel which is on display in the Lady Chapel. It depicts the Adoration of the Magi and is of great historical value and interest. Built: 700 / Architect: St Wilfrid (?)
Mixed Medium Painting of dreamy blue woman and abstract green circle representing the heart chakra.
I was in a friends’ apartment in Brooklyn Heights when this caught my eye. I loved the backdrop of the brick wall.

My husband, youngest son (now, almost 33) and I decided we needed to breath some fresh air for a change so we went for a drive today up to Nora Lake…this is a manmade lake (the size of a large pond) just outside of Shingletown in North Eastern CA…..(just a little above 3,000 foot elevation)....the sky was actually blue! That was a real treat and we could take deep breaths…..it was wonderful…...and to top it off we had fresh Trout for dinner! I hope you enjoy this image…I shot this one just before we left….the later in the day, the better the color and reflections….this is 100% unedited…right out of the camera…..........enjoy! / / / _____ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. It is a symbolic ritual through which dervishes (also called semazens) aim to reach the “perfect” (kemal). The aim is to abandon one’s nafs, egos or personal desires, by listening to God and the music (hence the term sema), thinking about God and whirling which has been compared to the orbiting of the planets in the Solar System around the sun. As explained by Sufis: In the symbolism of the Sema ritual, the semazen’s camel’s hair hat (sikke) represents the tombstone of the ego; his wide, white skirt represents the ego’s shroud. By removing his black cloak, he is spiritually reborn to the truth. At the beginning of the Sema, by holding his arms crosswise, the semazen appears to represent the number one, thus testifying to God’s unity. While whirling, his arms are open: his right arm is directed to the sky, ready to receive God’s beneficence; his left hand, upon which his eyes are fastened, is turned toward the earth. The semazen conveys God’s spiritual gift to those who are witnessing the Sema. Revolving from right to left around the heart, the semazen embraces all humanity with love. The human being has been created with love in order to love. Mevlâna Jalâluddîn Rumi says, “All loves are a bridge to Divine love. Yet, those who have not had a taste of it do not know!”

Bedlam heartburn / A series where I try to approach the fear of insanity. I believe that this fear is collective and that we all have to face it sometime, one way or another. This is a composite. First image is almost untouched and created with long exposure with a flashlight. Second layer is worked in CS. Both blended and mixed in CS. For tHe image on the main layer I try to keep the Photoshop-work to a minimum to not loose the ethereal energy the method some times captures. Inspired by The HIA and Biosphere – Snapshot Survey (Norwegian “ambient”) Real Cool ! And Inspired by Bob Moore who taught me so much of meditation and healing both directly and through one of his Norwegian followers. Thank you Bob wherever you are now. This is my way to healing and selfrealization. If my work can give something to an other human being it´s many times worth the effort. Thanks for stopping by and look into my world for a minute. ...roy
It took me forever to get this painting to be ok. / Had to lay it down and pick it up again, over and over.. / While working on it there was the strugle ( that is there more often..) between working from the soul and working from ego.. / Ego has th; I can use my tools to create this the way i want it to be.. the soul tells me to let it be.. accept the flow.. clearly this struggle is not only present while i paint.. but the painting helps me to see and understand more. Samsara in buddhism en hinduisme stands for the cylce of death and rebirth without a start and end, under the influence of illusion and karma and filled with agony. / The presence of the mentale states of desire, aversion and ignorance form an important aspect of the existence of Samsara. Music / / Samsara is the world as we ordinary human beings experience it, and where the mental and emotional states of desire, irritation and confusion often get the best of us. Samsara the Movie / “Samsara” is a spiritual love story set in the majestic landscape of Ladakh, in the Himalayas, about one man’s quest to find enlightenment. Tashi, a brilliant young disciple, is just completing three years of solitary meditation in a remote hermitage. Brought out of a deep trance, Tashi is taken back to his ancient monastery where he slowly recovers his strenght, but his return has unexpected results. Despite a life devoted to the rigors of spiritual development, he finds himself experiencing a suprisingly profound sexual awakening. These feelings coincide with his journey to a village to perform a harvest blessing where he meets Pema, a beautiful young woman. For the first time, Tashi begins to question the spiritual values of his monastic existence, realizing that one has to experience worldly existence in order to renounce it. Through Tashi’s eyes, this spiritual and moving love story chronicles one man’s discovery of the promise of “Samsara” – the world. Journey of my soul. There is a journey we must travel / We have committed to this task / We are here to pay the karma / We owe from lives that are past / We easily get detoured / Loose sight of our task / But this Journey we must travel / So our soul is free at last…. / Renate Dartois
This is an image from my Spirit Series. I’m photographing smoke in my studio, then mirroring it for symmetry. I then hand color them to the tones and shades that carry the feeling best. I’ve created a separate profile to show these images on redbubble, you can view my SpiritDancer profile here. Like Rorschach inkblot tests, people see an amazing range of things in these images. To me, there is a great deal of the female energy in them. In fact, this image was chosen for publication in the soon to be released The World’s Greatest Erotic Art of Today book by Erotic Signature Publishing.
