Hello and welcome to all Red Bubblers in this group! I am really excited about reading, exploring and debating artistic pieces of work that are so typical of so many talented writers on RB. A few house rules: (1) Let’s try to keep it to 1-2 downloads per person on a daily basis to allow the work to be viewed and not flood the group page please. / (2) Have fun and be as creative as you like / (3) When commenting or feeding back remember to be sensitive – artists are sensitive people! / (4) Any queries about the group – send me a Bubblemail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. / (5) Any ideas or suggestions – I’m all ears Most of all enjoy! Here’s to an unfolding magical journey of creativity and the inspiration that comes with being part of such a wonderful group of people! Suzanne

This is my version of a sign of the times. How we put our faith and hope into false symbols. An enlightened awakening of our narcissistic quest for personal gratification. It’s about good and bad, right and wrong and how it all means nothing in the end. My god what am I talking about? Sometimes we try so hard to find “life” from “without” only realizing in the end that it has always been “within” us; sometimes hidden in the most obscure part of ourselves, but it is there. Woman holding light energy. Photo based illustration.
Hehe, I was quite bored today, so I decided to take some photos of the cats doing silly things… ; )
for Now here’s my darkside “My Darkside” seeks to explore issues of identity and meaning and the questioning of one’s life and purpose over time and beyond time. There is deliberate loneliness and isolation as the viewer is invited to journey in the small boat in the moonlight of her face. The only light that the moon has to offer is a reflection of the sun, other than that it is nothing but a cold dark stone. Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas / February 2009 / 92cm x 92cm
ELLE / Photo best viewed large. / / / ELLE was FEATURED in the group:IN THE PINK / / / / / ELLE was FEATURED in the group:THE SCAVENGER / HUNT / / / / / Somewhat more compact than most hybrid teas, this vigorous, award-winning rose is ideal for small garden areas or large containers. This beautiful, light pink rose would be the shining star in any landscape or indoor setting! / ELLE is favored amongst most florists, and its’ buds are the perfect attraction for any corsage, bouquet, or basket. It is easily recognized for its’ soft, silky petals and beautiful blooms. This beautiful rose blooms in early spring and will last throughout summer with proper care. Excellent disease resistance and very dense, glossy green foliage make this new rose a winner in any garden! / / Pink Roses have a very rich history of meaning and symbolism. Light pink roses have come to symbolize sympathy and grace, while dark pink roses stand for admiration and appreciation/gratitude. Mauve roses mean beauty, love at first sight, and enchantment according to the Victorian Language of Flowers. / / For the the History of Pink Roses, go to ALL ABOUT PINK ROSES / / / / Photo was shot with my Canon Digital EOS 40D. / Lens used: Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
a bird on a barbed wire fence in Lawton OK. This is very near my home… Nikon D80 / May 7, 2009] We have birds making nests in our bbq if we leave the lid down. When I open it, I find bits of trash that they have collected along with the straw and twigs. We should all pay more attention to where our trash is ending up and maybe trying to buy “Naked Products” which are products with a little to no packagins as possible. Buy local and aways recycle! ;)

For a challenge Andy set me. Self-portrait. The mask is makeup. / Canon 450D, edited on PS CS3 / Massive experiment with lighting techniques, post-editing techniques.. etc. Believe it or not. Featured in: / The Human Condition / Makeup Creations / Redbubble Featured Art & Photography (YAY!) / The Woman Photographer / Studio Lighting / Artrageous RB Artistis / Behind the Mask x2 / Model Beginnings / Moody, Dark and Evocative / Young Enthusiasts x2 / Photographers Self-Portrait / Make-up Creations / Challenge Weekly A collaboration with the incredible erika15, this is her poem Puzzle, and it’s amazing. SO GO COMMENT. Puzzle / many faces / many masks / throughout the day I wear / all fragments and pieces of me / like puzzle pieces / always moving around- a Rubik’s Cube / and I feel like a carnival in Venice / Mardi Gras in New Orleans / a Cirque du Soleil / a costume party on all Hallow’s Eve / a master of disguise / as I arrange and rearrange / to try to connect and make a whole but my puzzle is never completed / throughout the day / I just keep moving different pieces around / wearing different faces / like the moon’s phases / fragmented / divided / I always am then I sit / and retreat / to my inner place / where I gather my pieces / like flowers plucked from a meadow / and slowly one by one / they all move into place / the paint of runs off my skin / I shed the mask of the day- / the wild circus of the day / and my puzzle is complete / I am me / dreaming, thinking, creating and I find that only one knows all of me / very few know me well / but it seems that with you / I always exposed half of me / the other half -I hid away and I still do / my secret side / you wouldn’t understand / my words would be lost / in translation like Egyptian hieroglyphs / or a Morse Code / as I try to explain myself to you / and you would see me in a different light / so I’d rather keep things this way / where you only know the simple side / and my complex world / remains buried inside
RB’s challenge “Substance of things not seen” inspired many questions of how to convey and/or observe what we cannot see, let alone create a piece of art. / Then, while listening to our CD player shuffle, this song played…Colors of the Wind / You think you own whatever land you land on / Earth is just a dead thing you can claim / But I know every rock and tree and creature / Has a life, has a spirit, has a name / You think the only people who are people / Are the people who look and think like you / But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger / You learn things you never knew / You never knew / Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? / Or ask the grinning bobcat why he grinned / Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? / Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? / Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? / Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest / Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth / Come roll in all the riches all around you / And for once never wonder what they’re worth / The rainstorm and the river are my brothers / And the heron and the otter are my friends / And we are all connected to each other / In a circle in a hoop that never ends / Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon? / or let the eagle tell you where hes been / can you sing with all the voices of the mountain / can you paint with all the colors of the wind / can you paint with all the colors of the wind / How high does the sycamore grow / If you cut it down, then you’ll never know / And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon / For whether we are white or copper – skinned / We just sing with all the voices of the mountain / Need to paint with all the colors of the wind / You can own the earth and still / All you’ll own is earth until / You can paint with all colors of the wind. Not leaving well enough alone, I ventured into googling and found an amazing photograph (hven.swarthmore.edu) of a Wind Bubble and began searching more of the Stellar Winds ~ this all seemed to fit, so I sketched a female figure being blown by the wind and layered it atop the Wind Bubble, editing a little more with the Redfield fractilius plug-in to bring the force of the wind alive with evidence of its power, though unseen… “Thought is the Wind, knowledge the sail, and mankind the vessel. ” August Hare
