This is one that REALLY didn’t come out as planned. The more I dug into this Sterling fractal, the more I was surprised to see the worms popping up and looking meaner than ever each time. I finally surrendered to them and I offer their nightmarish image to you so we can both have a sleepless night. :-D

I ran into the usual cast of fox kit photographers today – even some folks I haven’t seen in a while. None of us have found kits so far. The day started out great – the low pressure system was moving out, with cold temps early, a nice misty fog when I got to the location that turned into gorgeous golden light. the only thing missing were foxes. And I don’t mean fox kits – I mean any fox at all. I didn’t see a fox the first 2 hours I was out this morning (a rare occurrence). I was about to bail when Pock made an appearance – briefly. Then the beta made an entrance too. He was in the brush, then ran directly in my direction. It happened so fast I had difficulty getting him framed and cut off his feet (figuratively speaking). Foxes are extremely expressive animals. When the ears are back, they’re not pleased with something. I’m guessing the thing he’s not pleased about is having so many people around that they have to keep moving the den site around.
