Yo dudes, Duck Hunter here, Private Ducktective. 4am. Downtown Brecon. I was opening the mail. / In walks this chick. Breasts to die for and a feint smell of oranges. / ‘What’s a girl gotta do to get some attention round here?’ / I found her a chair, no idea why I’d hidden it / ‘Sit your sweet tail feathers on that and tell me your story,’ I said / I’d heard the tale before. / Duck meets drake. Duck likes what she sees. / Drake and duck get it together. / Drake and duck do something that rhymes with duck. / Drake leaves duck in the lurch with four eggs and no visible income. / Duck comes to Duck Hunter, Private Ducktective. / I tell her I’ll bill her 40 a day plus duckspenses. / She feathers my nest with a 5 day advance / So now I’m out in the street ducktecting. It’s raining. But that’s just water off my back…...........

My Thanks to Irene for telling me this was a Lily – I’m more into the veg garden so my flower recognition is a bit ropey! Basic shot – no processing other than re-size and crop. Brecon 2008 Copyright D Meacham

Little Welsh bloke wins in Frisco
by MeachA BIT of good news in the house of Meach this week. This picture !http://images-1.redbubble.com/img/art/size:large/view:main/463803…
A BIT of good news in the house of Meach this week. This picture Came first out of 1000 international entries at the Flower Power Festival Art Exhibition in Frisco, Texas. (A posh burb of Dallas). I didn’t actually realise there was a competition involved when I sent the pics out there – thought it was purely an exhibition – so it came as a bit of a shock to hear that I’d won. My thanks to Diana Moya, the festival organiser. Thanks also to all who voted for me – some of them may be fellow bubblers – and thanks to all on Redbubble for the encouragement and friendship. I’ve always wanted to do one of those thank you speeches – weeeeeeeehah

A quiet evening by Llangorse Lake – the sky looked as if I was looking at it through a bottle of cider – hence the title.

Primroses growing in an old hanging basket that sits at the side of my composter. / They are a protected species so it’s always worth taking a picture

Nothing in the world like a Brecon Beacons’ sunset – except possibly a Brecon Beacons sunsrise but that means getting up early on cold mornings – not good for the camera – at least that’s my excuse

This is Bob – an owl spoiled by someone who found him at the bottom of a tree – now he can’t return to the wild as he has no fear of humans or dogs.

This is a response to the completely bizarre tale of Buoy meets Swan that arose in the comments on this picture Here Barbara is still in the closet. / Buoy – died in 1966 / Swan started a hippy commune in Neesden and still lives there to this day. / The Buoy band lasted for three years until hard Bobbing took it’s toll (about £5.45) on all of them. / Bobby Williams continues to perform best forgotten jazz numbers in the Hope and Anchor, Bridlington. / Mat and Mike got it together following a Civil Ceremony in Rhyl and lived happily ever after in Splot, Cardiff. This picture is dedicated to a friend who is feeling down – thinking of you 002

This is the picture that is being used as the cover of this year’s Mid-Wales Tourism Brochure. On the back page it says: ‘Cover picture David Meacham’ – how posh is that? I’m proud to say that out of 90 pictures used in the brochure 51 are mine – weeeeeeehagh. Do I sound excited – you bet I am – I’ve been sitting on this for a fortnight waiting for the brochure to hit the Tourism Centres before I was allowed to upload it The doorway pictured is at Tretower Court, Near Crickhowell, Powys. Information here Tretower

Swan meets Buoy – Buoy meets swan. Swan hides her head (she’s shy). “What’s your name Buoy?”, she asks from under the water (in a speech bubble presumably). “Bob”, he replies.
