  • People in Virginia love to eat the MD Blue Crab – Its part of the culture. Old Bay makes all food delicious! And that is why this photo makes me wonder what the crab is thinking. I am assuming that the crab does not want me to use the Old Bay Seasoning, because if I did, he would surely be eaten.

  • A regal shot of the flag of 1814 at Fort McHenry, Baltimore, MD. This flag is the replica of the flag flown during The Battle of Baltimore in 1814. Nearly 1200 soldiers were on duty that day at the fort and nearly 16,000 soldiers in the Harbor of Baltimore. For those that do not know….Fort McHenry and the Battle of Baltimore was the battle which inspired our National Anthem. Written by Francis Scott Key on that night.

  • This tiny log cabin along Wills Creek, in Cumberland, Maryland was the official headquarters of (then, Lt Colonel) George Washington, from the years 1754 through 1755. The young, 22 year old, Washington commanded 150 men from this location, during the French and Indian War. This historic treasure is located in Riverside Park, at the point where Wills Creek feeds into the north branch of the Potomac River. Riverside Park is a Cumberland City Park, operated in conjunction with Cumberland Garden Club. It is on the Maryland side of the bridge to Ridgeley, West Virginia. This photo was captured with a Canon EOS 10D camera with a Canon EF 28-70mm f/2.8L Macro lens at 28mm focal length. The shutter speed was 1/90th sec at f/8. The camera’s ISO was set to 400.
