This was taken at the album launch of “The House I was Reared In ” the debut record from photographer Christy McNamara in June 2007 The Hotel ( the Old Ground Ennis) was so full of well wishers that Christy and his band had to resort to the production kitchen to tune up, here’s a candid through the kitchen window. From Christy’s blog: Christy McNamara is a self-taught photographer working out of County Clare in the West of Ireland. In the early 90s, while working in London, he met master printer and photographer Adrian Ensor who has had a major influence on his work. This meeting brought him into the darkroom where he learned the art of fine art black & white printing. Also in London, he met the writer Peter Woods, who managed the Fiddlers Elbow where Christy, also a musician, played Irish Music. This resulted in their book, ‘The Living Note’ (O’Brien Press 96 and Roberts Rinehart 97, known as ‘The Heart Beat of Irish Music’ in the USA). He also worked on the ‘The Scattering’ A&A Farmar 2000 – a book on emigrants from Co Clare.

A collection of images taken during the Vietnam war (or American war if your vietnamese) from actual film footage. My uncle lost his life in vietnam, so i do not intend this to be seen as some derision or laughter of those troops and people—i only mean the utmost respect. Lest we forget.
