/ Have to admit, I’d been given the impression that an opening night, like this (for the: About A Man exhibition, at the Tap Gallery) , might be a bit pretentious. / And that makes me think of the Fawlty Towers episode, which I watch over and over, where the young guest impresses Mrs Fawlty with the punch-line: Pretentious? Moi? / / But I thoroughly enjoyed myself and felt a bit like having gone back to the future. / / In the very early seventies, I attended an Art Teachers Conversion Course, nearby, in East Sydney Tech.. / Two things stopped me from going on to become an art teacher (actually: 3). / They failed my painting. (Too primitive.) And I was enjoying myself too much teaching primary. (The third thing was not enjoying ceramics. Never did get on with slippery things like wet clay.)

weirdest feeling-sitting on the train, on the way to the gallery, with people everywhere opening mx, reading it, being on page 4, and no one looking up at me, going…(look up),hmmm (look down) is that, , (back up) ...her?! fame isn’t that easy to come by! thank goodness I contacted mx to get steve in the news…but since I fit into that 18-35 bracket, here I am, doin’ my bit for ze gallery!

thoughts, feelings, knowing-it’s a synapses of awareness. You get little gems along the grapevine and they are gold. alternatively, Steve (bodymechanic) says this reminds him of pyjamas. Obviously has a relaxing effect!

the sounds, the vibrations, the movement. The energy of life is well upon us and I felt the inspiration for this one has come from colour, music and flow. It doesn’t make much sense, but we structure it anyway. Some times it melts, we fit in the little moments of our true selves and reveal that our true selves are in everything we do. there are no signs we need, no hoops to jump through. We are already here and knowing where we are, we are there. Living. Enjoy.

When you are there, you get to represent a lot of artists, who may one day, due to our collective efforts, may not have to do that day job as much!!! ( wouldn’t we all love that!) The aim is that we all help out and by giving time, we gain an enjoyable experience and share our art with the public who may also purchase the art. Bearing this in mind, please remember your afternoon arrival may be gladly awaited by the morning person who has other things on. Or, that keen early morning shopper may be waiting for you to arrive at 10am-there are lots of those at this time of year! We all appreciate your efforts to keep the commitments made. If changes occur, please notify someone who can replace you (and let me know) asap. I’m sure you all do the best you can, and together, as we’ve already seen, we can make amazing things happen. well i wasn’t going to show this one but i was convinced by mayuphoto! / anyways i was told i struck an uncanny resembalance to famous hawaiian sumo yokozuna musashimaru, so they got me to recreate his famous poster pose in the middle of a sydney street with hundreds of world youth day people looking on, this was done with my camera so as i had one for the record!! / enjoy or vomit!
