These guys can be seen in Central Park, at the Bethesda Fountain under the Angel of the Waters. Did you know that they have names. Did you also know that I do not know which name goes to which cherub. It’s sort of like the Lions at the NYC Public Library’s main building. The lions names are Patience and Fortitude. Which is which, I don’t know. But I will be investigating one day.
While waiting for quite a few minutes for this train to pass, I decided to get out of my car and shoot some pictures. It could be my imagination, but over time I am seeing more trains come through, they are getting longer and packed with more of the containers you see. Apparently the energy crisis is good for someone.

This photograph shows two visually impaired runners. The man in the white shirt, in the top left panel, is the spotter for the visually impaired runner in shorts. The woman in the blue jacket, in the bottom panel, is the spotter for the runner in the red pants. I believe that this was her first race, a 10 mile race. She walked it. She may have been the last one to cross the finish line, but… / she DID cross it. This heron, or one just ike it, spends its summers snorkling in the Hudson River near one of the boat basins. It has been there for the past three years. I was lucky enough this year to get a quick close-up with my Nikon 400VR. The heron waits for no one.
