  • based on Madron Holy Well in South Cornwall. The tradition of hanging offerings of flowers and rags and ribbons is still in practice today amongst Pagans in the UK. This image was inspired by the beauty and fertility of may when the bluebells and Horse Chestnut is in bloom and mayday (Beltane) is the traditional time for well dressings and leaving offerings to the water spirits and fairies.

  • Have you ever taken a twilight walk through the country lanes in May, after a gentle ,misty shower of fresh rain, when the hedges and woods about you carry the scent of wild garlic and May blossom on the breeze? try it :-)

  • Beltane Beltane (April 30th-may 1st) is one of the four major Celtic festivals of the year and marks the beginning of Summer. The Goddess is decked in green and her wells and springs are believed to be at their most fertile and magical. (The Malvina Well used in this image was sculpted by Rose Garrard and can be found in the centre of Great Malvern,Worcestershire.)

  • This image is for all those who walk a simerla path to myself, i have been planning to draw a collection of images based on the yearly sabbats and this is the first one i have so far compleated. And all Redbubble’rs will be the first to see it haveing only compleated it last night. / Like most of my work there is a heavy celtic theam in this image but i have tryed to add as much symbolism as i could just to add to the power of the image, the figures are based with in a pentagram surronded by spirals of the waxing and waining moon, and then there is the cressent moon and the blazing sun, there is more but i dont want to give it all away and its fun to see if others can pick up on what is hidden in all my work.

  • These make excellent birthday cards ! I am designing 12 images based around the months of the year and the old Celtic luna months. They will reflect the changing of the seasons and the ever turning wheel of the year, the magic and mystery attatched to each part of the cycle and any special festivals falling in those months. I hope you enjoy them as much as I am enjoying creating them :) Blessings Angie*

  • It is December 7th after all…..........

  • I have just celebrated Beltane, the Celtic festival marking the beginning of Summer on May eve/ Mayday. The town near where I live has a huge Folk festival every Mayday Weekend and I have been down enjoying the dancers and the music and taking photographs of the participents. / I was inspired to do this artwork by the fabulous ‘Beltane Borders morris’ side who are based in Devon, England. Their dances and look are very Pagan and I was delighted to see them perform one of their energetic dances to Loreena McKennitt’s Huron : Beltane Fire Dance , a song which was itself inspired by English mayday parades and celebrations: Beltane Border Morris website: http://www.beltaneborder.co.uk/ “When in the springtime of the year / When the trees are crowned with leaves / When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew / Are dressed in ribbons fair When owls call the breathless moon / In the blue veil of the night / The shadows of the trees appear / Amidst the lantern light We’ve been rambling all the night / And some time of this day / Now returning back again / we bring a garland gay Who will go down to those shady groves / And summon the shadows there / And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms / In the springtime of the year The songs of birds seem to fill the wood / That when the fiddler plays / All their voices can be heard / Long past their woodland days And so they linked their hands and danced / Round in circles and in rows / And so the journey of the night descends / When all the shades are gone “A garland gay we bring you here / And at your door we stand / It is a sprout well budded out / The work of Our Lord’s hand” The Mummer’s Dance by Loreena McKennitt

  • Abstract image of a sunset. / Taken with in camera tweaking involved / Nikon D300 / Nikkor Micro 105 mm lens. / Handheld. When I stare at this image especially LARGE View / it just seems to pulsate! / The pulse reminded me of the fantastic music of Mike Patton & Tomahawk / Never dull, always chaotic!

  • Reminds me a bit of life, To ride the wave as long as you can before the next person tries to knock you off. When it happens, just keep your head down and let it wash over your head, Dont let it crash into you. Once past, you can get back on the next wave. / ( Silly I know but its the best i can do tonight, I have been hit for six by something and the old grey matter isnt functioning properly). While capturing dogs ( as in recent capture) I was trying to get these guys, while trying to stand upright in the wind ( and surf ).
