  • This is a drawing my 6 year old son did. He said ’ Mum please can I put this on a t-shirt?’ I love this drawing and this made him really happy. He spends all his spare time (when he’s not playing video games) drawing and will draw for hours. Guess he takes after Mummy!

  • The threatened Jaguar is the only living big cat of the American continent. The Jaguar is a roaring cat sometimes confused with the leopard, both having spots in rosettes, but those of the Jaguar have a black spot at the centre. A Jaguar has golden or brownish yellow fur and many spots. The spots along its back and sides are light-coloured with dark borders. The spots on its head, legs and underside are black. Black Jaguars live in South America. They live in forests, shrubby areas, and grasslands – wherever they can hide. They hunt mainly on the ground and at night, and eat almost any kind of animal or fish. The powerful Jaguar has remarkable strength, a good climber and an accomplished swimmer. They measure up to 2.6m long, including their 75cm tail. They weigh up to 136 kilograms. / The Jaguar symbolised strength and courage to the ancient Maya Indians, who considered the animal a god. The Jaguars once ranged from the southern states of the USA south over almost the entire South American continent, but are now extinct in almost all areas close to human settlements. It lives only in Mexico and Central and South America. Jaguars, the largest neotropical cats with the most prized fur, have been ruthlessly hunted. It faces serious danger from fur hunters and environmental changes. The USA now prohibits the import and export of Jaguars or their pelts. / The ‘Lost City Collection’ wildlife painting portrays the handsome and powerful Jaguar while creating an awareness of their plight.

  • The wonders of childhood…

  • This city scene featuring an old Spanish Catholic cathedral is from Merida, capital city of the Yucatan state of Mexico. The summer days here are hot, but at night, the city and its lights come to life as people creep out into the cool breezes and the fragrant night air. The cathedral in Merida is also historical. It is the oldest cathedral in the mainlands of the Americas, and was built of stone from a Maya city that previously occupied the location of the colonial city built in the mid 16th century.

  • Located near the Mayan Ruins in Guatamala, these ancient trees cover the area. It was only during the deforestation of the area that Mayan Ruins were discovered. To give you an idea of the size of the roots of the ancient tree the man to the left it is about six feet tall.

  • This small Jaguar vessel was probably used for burning copal incense during ceremonies or on a small home alter. It is between 1200 and 1400 years old (Give or take a hundred years or so). It’s actually a 3 legged vessel, but the angle of this photo only lets you see 2 of them.

  • An irreverent homage to the famous Goya’s paints “Maya desnuda” and “Maya vestida”. From here my colorful “La Maya a La Playa”

  • Manifestation on cenote wall / water, night of Winter Solstice. Candles along side the cenote/cave and a background ambient light cast a shadow inside the cenote (see the rope for reference and turn image on it’s side). I took a 2 second exposure. There were many candles involved, i am assuming it was the “Fire” at work with the shadow here. I did not see this shadow until after the image was taken. When turned on it’s side the photo draws an incredible shadow of the Mayan/Aztec “God of Fire”. Taken the night of the winter solstice after a Mayan ceremony. Dec 22 2006 in the Mexican/Mayan Jungles of “Sacbe”. Several Mexican Shamans, historians and academics have reviewed the image and have agreed on it’s “magical and mystical” nature and is thought to be a blessing or gift. It was the eve of my birthday. The Mayan Shaman who conducted the ceremony that night said his air hairs rose and that it was magic, and that magic is always around us present at all times. This was part of a dramatic shift in my life. A positive one. This helps people to “believe”. Note this photo has not been cropped or altered in any way

  • The top of El Castillo as we have come to know it at Chichen Itza in the Mexican state of the Yucatan. It’s a striking image even as it stands today. In all likelihood the entire temple was originally plastered and painted vividly. Chichen Itza is a UNESCO World Heritage site

  • Hunab Ku / The Hunab Ku or Galactic Butterfly symbol as seen in the middle of this enhanced design: This symbol is called the “Galactic Butterfly” which is said to represent all of the consciousness that has ever existed in this galaxy. This is all of our physical ancestors both human, animal, reptile, fish, shell fish, plants as well as the consciousness which organized all of the raw material from a whirling disk into stars then planets and solar systems. Big Meaning. So big that the original Maya had no symbol for this. In their civilization it was like having no name for God. Just knowing the concept was good enough.
