My how time flies! How does it happen so fast??? Have you found yourself moving into Matriarch territory and people in your family (not just biological family) are coming to you for advice on all kinds of issues because they think you have so much more experience from life. Well we deserve a t-shirt that is labelled with our new found status in life. Matriarchs of this world unite and celebrate.

The exquisitely fragrant blooms of Brunfelsia fade as they age – thus the wonderful poetic name “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. Texture by Bea Pierce.

This abstract is a like a condensation of a dream, the many dimensions of me and the things I perceive, feel, hear and touch. It combines the whimsical child with vibrant color and energy with the mature artist represented in the background as a woman in a peach dress playing the piano as I often do. There is a deep maroon velvet curtain that surrounds the opening to my studio as many forms of the music I play come to life in front of the curtain. There are so many faces with different expressions, like the notes, some dissonant and others harmonious. The central character that can be seen as one unit or two heads is a good example of the emotional range of the music. A man with an angry face is attached to the curtain looking very serious, a counterpoint to the carefree and magical characters that emerge as the woman plays on. Viewing this in the larger format will allow you to see a myriaid of imagery.

Thinking. / / Based on a Cindy Sherman classic. In the original, Cindy is holding a scrap of paper that looks like classified ads from a newspaper. I hunted around my house for an old newspaper (don’t keep any usually) and found some lining a drawer. The article I tore out turned out to be an interview with countertenor Brian Asawa. I’m a countertenor (very amateur), singing alto in a choir occasionally, and we’re a pretty rare breed, so it was quite a coincidence.

Loving alone. I have a bolster in my bed to cuddle at night, and a few things to help in other ways. I tried online dating a few years ago, but I didn’t get enough from it to bother trying again. I’ve had to meet my own needs most of my life, so I’m pretty good at it by now.

Waiting. / / I did once contact this escort agency but wasn’t able to actually finalize anything. Maybe I’ll try again sometime. I’ve been celibate for nine of the past ten years, and that year of experimentation was several years ago now.
