Mixed mediums: Acrylic, rice paper, linen thread, pigment powder on canvas. / Size: 613×917 x 42 mm; Framed size: 970×665 x 50 mm Concept: Practically stitches bind, attach, and connect materials and/or surfaces together and is a metaphor for human bonding. The stitch becomes the ‘thread’, linking and connecting to the human psyche. Using a needle and thread by hand to stitch is a slow, methodical and sometimes painful process, of pushing and pulling through materials. The process reveals the two sides (dual nature) and the in-between to this affair. / / Abstractly worked, the stitch is used metaphorically for relaying energies and relationship formations. / Spirit Matter Cosmos abstractly references and resonates concepts of duality, the conscious and unconscious, complexity and simplicity, the spirit and alchemy of ‘relationships’ (blood & gold symbolism), transitory formations (the faded) illusions to connections and perceived realities. Always within, is the ‘spirit’, the centre, a voice of wisdom that guides and directs us in and through and beyond the ‘matter’. I do a fair amount of work like this. I call it doodles, but it is something more concentrated than the typical phone scribble. Some pieces contain something recognizable, some are pure abstraction. Molly (Yorkie) and Brooke (Boxer mix) play their “I’m meaner looking than you” game. But they are just playing and are actually very good buds. Brooke was no longer wanted by her original owners after she grew up. Molly was no longer wanted after she was late in her puppy stage. She was deemed as unacceptable for breeding. So both now live with us and our third rescue dog Oshie (shepherd mix), all of who are dearly loved, and will be forever. Nikon D200 w/ 18-70 mm zoom lens.

I have not stopped thinking about the works of / LisaG and her newest piece called Sad Tree it got my mind and heart juiced up! SAD TREE _Beside a waterhole / a sad tree was planted seasonally / it leaned forward in a spirited attempt / to soulfully drench an act of love it did it all / without shame smoke often filled the air / the sad tree / was the last of its breed it had seen a fair amount / it had danced the last dance all that was left was to / take care of its bounty no more travel / c’est la vie a railway line sang blue / as the willow / spoke to flesh and blood flesh ran / to the rose bush without bud / asking for no reason why must I hang my head? I knew in this first piece of my Tantric Series there was a distinctive Penis and a Clitoritis showing up while I was working. (can you find them?) / Below are the two genitals male and female found in this work ..blown up and worked on again to create the Tantric Series I am exploring new ways to look at Sexuality.
