North Avalon on a crisp Autumn morning, had the surfing community impressed… Canon 20D – 300mm
When my partner saw this image on the way to completion, he commented that it was ‘just weird’. Well, I don’t mind being considered ‘weird’, or having my work considered ‘weird’ – in fact I take it as quite a compliment if anyone feels this word ‘fits’ with me and my work… So – here it is. Another composite image created from many image layers in varied blending modes, with many textures, erasures and varied blending. All images used to create this composite taken with Sony Alpha 350, various lenses, and are mine. WINNER – ‘PAINT IT BLACK’ CHALLENGE IN THE GROUP ‘BACK IN BLACK’! FEATURED IN ‘BACK IN BLACK’!
A re-work of previously posted image. I love the work of Helene Kippert and PepperPepper – they both put a wonderful organic feel into their work. So here, in my own way, I’ve hoped to give this image a new life. / Thank H & P for your inspiration :) For enquires about canvas prints, or photographic prints larger than Redbubble options, please contact me via bubblemail

I do a fair amount of work like this. I call it doodles, but it is something more concentrated than the typical phone scribble. Some pieces contain something recognizable, some are pure abstraction. Other than planning out the face, the fill in all freely flows from the fingers via a ball point pen. Sam Dantone

Molly (Yorkie) and Brooke (Boxer mix) play their “I’m meaner looking than you” game. But they are just playing and are actually very good buds. Brooke was no longer wanted by her original owners after she grew up. Molly was no longer wanted after she was late in her puppy stage. She was deemed as unacceptable for breeding. So both now live with us and our third rescue dog Oshie (shepherd mix), all of who are dearly loved, and will be forever. Nikon D200 w/ 18-70 mm zoom lens.

Straight from camera…..... The Eurasian brown bear has brown fur, which can shift from yellow-brownish to dark brown, red brown, and almost black in some cases. The fur is dense to varying degree and the hair can grow up to 10 cm in length. The shape of the head is normally quite round with relatively small and round ears, a wide skull and a mouth equipped with 42 teeth, including predatory teeth. It has a powerful bone structure, large paws, equipped with big claws, which can grow up to 10 cm in length. The weight varies depending on habitat and time of the year. The bears east of Ural have to a larger extent brighter and more reddish colors. The Asian bears also seem to be more aggressive than the European bears. A declining species…......
.....................................................................................I have a color version of this pic taken back in May 2007—but I love it so much I thought I’d do a B and W version. Also…here’s a poem I wrote a while back that seemed to go with it: What Matters In Life Feeling the fresh wind swoosh across my face / Walking in a brisk, non-swift pace / Hearing birds chirp and wildly flutter / Touching textures smooth, soft as butter / Reading a story of hope, laughter or joy / Watching a child riding a scooter—his toy / Sensing the smell of baked goods with coffee / Listening to leaves rustle atop the oak tree / Seeing a foreign tourist in couture style / Speaking a new accent for a short while / Waking up each morning to see the sun shine / Sharing a humorous joke to see a face line / Remembering a moment with someone gone ‘bye’ / Running on the beach, squinting an eye / Musing to music for words to live by / Giving a gift that makes another cry / Living for happiness at every moment in time / Wining, dining and hearing bells chime / Feeling the kiss & embrace from your love / Realizing the simple beauty of a white dove. / by / Michael J Armijo PS-I just remembered when my mom passed away on Jan. 24, 2000 I thought to myself “NOTHING MATTERS”...I think that was one of the reasons I wrote this poem. Sold 1 mounted print to a family member.
