Poetry by my creative kindred spirit
This poem was written by my maternal grandmother, Leila May Oxnam, who is no longer with us in body, but in spirit she is a powerful force. I wrote a lot of poetry growing up, inspired by “Nanny”, and spent a lot of time in the sun with her too. She was a beach girl, with salt-water in her veins, she embraced life and was never frightened by change. I still think of her most days.

She breathes and whispers a wind song, / caressing her beloved, / Watching adornfully with her celestial eyes, /
Memories, like toys abandoned, / Found later to be loved again, / So real, yet so elusive.
