It’s very cold. I could hardly feel my hands on my way home from work. Also, it is, as Grammy would say, Snowing to Beat the Band outside! Speaking of which, I got a warning of Danger, Falling Snow on my way home. Yeah. No kidding. Anywho, after snapping a few pictures of our Snow Season I drove on in Solitude – lonesome as a leaf without a tree. I got home and sat here in Solitude as well. That is, until I logged on to Yahoo messenger and talked to Ozjami , and MSN messenger to talk to Googa . Oh well! Been wondering whether to say anything… but seeing as we’re into self expression and all… I have spent a lot of my life caring for a member of my family with mental illness. It’s bloody hard hard work. But I do it because I love them. And more importantly I respect them. Herein lies the drum… I would like to formalise my sadness at some not all of the photos taken at Aradale last weekend. Guys this was a place of torment, horror, misguided judgement and ultimately whether or not deliberate, a place of inhumanity. The people who lived here had souls, fears and sufferings. That precious few understood and precious few still understand. In my opinion the parody displayed is some shots is really disappointing. Man it’s tough enough for people with mental illness it REALLY is. It can’t be seen and is so so often mocked or disbelieved. And it’s tough for carers too. I know some people will say ‘get real, it’s artistic interpretation..’ Maybe. But I wonder when perhaps restraint is the better part of valour. Others will say ‘Don’t look if you don’t want too.’ To which i say, you have no idea how much I’ve already seen. And still some will say ‘Get a life.’ Problem is, this is my life. I know this will make me the outcast of ‘the group.’ But those of you who know me, know I speak with heart, love and respect for the dignity of people. Disagree by all means. Thanks for the chance to speak up. Peace.

Hey All, Well Bec and I are in the process of getting together some funds to go towards a massive trip that we have planned. A brief outline of what we intend to do follows: November 28th: Fly to Perth. Stay in Perth with family for Christmas & New Years. Buy a Subaru Forester GT. During this time we intend to visit Geraldton, the Pinnacles, The Abrohles Islands, Bussleton.. basically we want to do a lot of snorkeling, maybe some diving and a lot of photography. January 4th, Leave Perth and go via the following places: Busselton, Margaret River, Denmark, Albany, Esperance, across the Nullarbor and into Adelaide. While in Adelaide we will probably stay in Goolwa (near Victor Harbor) for a few days. Then from Adelaide we will drive through the middle of NSW via Dubbo, stop for a day and visit Western Plains Zoo, then home to Brisbane via Goondiwindi. What I’m looking for is some suggestions of places to snorkle, places to take photos and things that I just “must see”. We want to visit the old telegraph house near the nullarbor, I want to get some shots of ghost towns and ruins.. some typical outback and coastal shots. Also I’m looking for wildflowers and canola and/or lavender fields. If anyone has any suggestions, tips etc on what to do or not to do.. I’d love to hear them. Hi all! Sorry to flood your inboxes with a massive art update. I’ve had numerous pieces piled up, waiting to be submitted…and figured I had better get them in now, or forever hold my peace. LOL Some of these are a couple of years old! But I still love them so much. One in particular, Forget Me Not, really made it’s rounds through the internet. The minute I posted it on DeviantArt, the MySpace/Photobucket/Flickr junkies made off with it, thereby creating a million variations of it for Myspace layouts, tags, glitter stamps, and such. So if it looks vaguely familiar, well…. you’ve probably seen it (and others in this series which I will soon post) somewhere before. :) There have been a couple of instances where I have found people here on RedBubble who, out of ignorance about copyright, had taken my images, and altered them for their own use. One such case involved this picture: entitled “Treasure Hunt”. Fortunately I was able to resolve the matter privately with the individuals… no harm done. Eventually they disappeared completely off RedBubble of their own accord….so. I guess that’s that. However, with the one person…this picture got quite well known – only he had replaced my model with a young child. So if this picture also looks vaguely familiar to you, there again you may have seen it somewhere before. :) So there we go! There will be a few more that I will be uploading… and then I’ll take a breather. ;) Enjoy the day! / Aimee

I joined Red Bubble about 4 days ago and have been overwhelmed by the response so far. One of my works, Untitled , was featured just hours after being uploaded which was very humbling and exciting. I take photos for fun and actually have no idea what I’m doing most of the time, I just know what I think looks ok. So I just want to say a big thank you for all the comments and ‘favouritings’ of my work. My confidence has certainly increased as a result, and I’m now looking forward to uploading more works and becoming more involved in this online world.

With this journal my intention is to alert the whole community of RB artists regarding the care we all must have when showing our works on a website, as well as to solicit help _ tips, suggestions_ regarding the actions to be carried out to try to lessen the impact of these illegal practices. / / It was just yesterday that I received an email from a friend currently living in Miami, Florida. He had just seen that copies of some of my works were being sold at $ 5 each on a popular Miami store. / / I immediately asked him to try to get more specific information regarding this store. One hour later he wrote me back with this info. / / MONZON BROTHERS (name of the store) / 318 W 21th Street / HIALEAH, FL 33010 / TOLL FREE 1-888-580-6363 / / TEL: (305) 885-6363 Local / TEL: (305) 885-3705 Local / FAX: (305) 885-6338 Local / EMAIL: monzonbrothers@hotmail.com / website: www.monzonbrothers.com / / He also attached a couple of photos that were taken in that store this same day. / / / Some of these images are mine; better said, most of them; these images belong to The Orishas Collection I´ve been working on all over this year. Please take a look at the original images for you to compare. / Yemayá / Oshun / Oshosi / Obatalá When confronted, a representative for Monzon Brothers replied this way. (sic): “… A gentle came by the store selling them…You may want to visit local store as well. People always come and try to sell everything in this business. / I did not know since they are offering this imagines not just to us… I am using it as wall paper to hide the showcase glass… since we are working there, so people do see the mess of paper work ,, we process ordered and answer phone calls.” I also asked them to please provide me with the name(s) and contact information of the people who are offering these prints to several stores so that I can warn them too officially not to repeat this act, and I still haven´t got any response on this matter from Monzon Brothers. Judging by the extremely low quality of these prints I assume they were taken from my RB galleries; they should have taken them from the standard view of the image cause I had placed RB big-centered watermark for larger views since these images were uploaded to the site. So this left me completely disarmed, and I don´t see any other option than to remove all images that are susceptible to be purchased from my galleries. Most probably you all know that I don´t live in the States. I´m currently living in Columbia, South America. So all tips, suggestions and positive HELP in general will be more than welcome. Also, I hope to have the active and enthusiastic support of fellow artists currently living in Miami, Florida, on this matter. Thanks for your kind attention. / Danilo Lejardi
