My husband and I went down to Pittsfield Massachusetts main road. I took this photo just for the hell of it through the window since my hubby wouldnt stop but for some reason Which is unknown to me. I like it.. Theres just something about it.. its blurry and all… but I think its the colors that got me. The only thing I did was sign my name.. No enhancements at all. Shot in Gardner, MA. S Bent Brothers is located on Mill street and produced some of the finest furniture that was distributed worldwide. The Bent rocking chair was one of their most popular pieces. These companies are what made Gardner, MA the Chair Capitol in the United States and ran the economy to make this a once flourishing community. / Unfortunately, as with many good things, time and the demand for high quality furniture has brought the Chair Capitol down onto it’s knees as most if not all of the mills and factories no longer exist or have recently closed, either due to outsourcing, the high price of good quality wood, and the owners passing or moving from the area. / Shot with Canon A 560 edited with Serif PhotoPlus X2 monochrome / / Copyright 2008 Rebecca Bryson. Early in the morning before sunrise, I waded into ankle deep water about a mile into a saltmarsh on Nantucket Sound. My goal for the morning was greater yellowlegs, green herons and other waders usually most active in the morning. I had not counted on catching a sharp-tailed sparrow. There was a ton of mud caked to the legs of my tripod after this one, but I think it was worth it. The saltmarsh sharp-tailed sparrow is a very secretive species and is not often seen. These birds are strictly found in normally inaccessible saltmarshes, so not much is known about their breeding habits. The species has a tiny range that tightly hugs part of the east coast; therefore, with the destruction of a large percentage of the natural saltmarshes along the east coast, the population of saltmarsh sharp-tailed sparrows is declining.
