colorful depiction of marshland in southeast.
Captured this evening under a setting sun. The light was quite golden originally but I decided to expand upon it.

Snowfall along the marshlands of the Lake Erie shoreline.
These trees in the marshlands are transformed into / “White Birches” as their shadows fall into reflection on the water’s surface / & the ice and foliage below play their part in this deception….

Part of a roadside marsh found in the Oka Provincial Park bordering the Lake of Two Mountains in Quebec, Canada. Taken just before sunset. There was activity in the area, ripples on the water and bird calls as we got out of the car, but the water eerily became quiet as I photographed.
The floating dock (boardwalk) at La Grande Baie, Oka Provincial Park-Quebec. Taken Tuesday August 19th/08.
South Central Ontario near Orangeville.

Marsh and part of the Cook Inlet, looking east toward the Chugach range and Kenai mountains on a recent quiet evening. Light has begun to last well into the wee hours – we don’t truly see dark skies in our sudden leap over spring into summer light. Nikon D200 and a Nikkor 18-200mm, at f/14 and 1/125 sec, -0.7ev, IS0 200, 52mm, Cokin graduated ND filter. Converted from RAW to jpeg using Capture NX 2, monopod. Manual exposure. And on a summer evening, with fireweed / / /people/jant/art/3471493-4-fireweed-and-the-chugach-range Returning /

This American Coot was foraging amongst the reeds of this lagoon and feeding her little one. What an adventure and joy to watch! Located on the edge of Bogotá Colombia, this urban marshland is host to many water birds and is a birder’s paradise.
NYMPHS are mysterious , mystical beings….their lives are long, they are one with the earth. Nymphs were made from it and they shall return to it at the end of the time ! This one I started with watercolour pencil on paper ( 42 cm / 60 cm ) and finished it with gouache. Many thanks for stopping by !
My husband and I took a ride to the coast yesterday to visit Grand Isle, Louisiana, which is a barrier island in Jefferson Parish sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Barataria Bay. This is a shot of the marshlands which are typical of the region’s terrain in the extreme southeastern part of the state. It was a stormy day in which we dodged one torrential shower after another. I took this photo along Highway 1, the only access to Grand Isle.
Grand Isle is a barrier island off the Louisiana coast; it lies between Barataria Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. I took this photo of a great white egret on Grand Isle.
Here at last is one I created about a week ago but was unable to finish because my software died on me! Created in Daz Studio and finished in Photoshop CS3
