  • The Shack
    by Dana DiPasquale

    US$9.97–US$228.00

Long Beach Island, NJ / www.danadipasquale.com This shack has been near my childhood home since I can remember. It falls a little more every year, and recently was supposed to be torn down. But, the residents of the area rallied to get it declared a landmark because it was such a part of the way we recognized home. So I love this little guy. © Dana DiPasquale 2008. US$3.99–US$91.20

Taken at Celestun in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula these flamingos are feeding in amazing numbers in a tidal estuary flanked by mangrove forests… tho there used to be even more until some recent hurricanes dispersed some of the breeding groups to elsewhere… more details here Taken with a compact camera as I was not confident in taking my new dslr afloat on a boat trip yet! Pity tho – an opportunity well and truly missed! And here is a shot of a mangrove pool in the nearby forest /

  • Down in the Swamp
    by Flamejob

    US$5.32–US$121.60

  • This image was 12 months in the making. The Avenue of Honour is 3km long and is the main entrance to the township of Bacchus Marsh, Victoria, Australia. It has taken on almost iconic status in the town, having been planted in 1918 at the sound of a bugle, as tribute to local people who enlisted in the First World War. Thought to be Canadian , English or Dutch elms, the Avenue now has about 300 mature trees and is classified by the National Trust.

  • Mountain Bog
    by Jane Best

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Mountain bog on the Blue RIdge Parkway near Linville, North Carolina. This photo was taken late in the afternoon. When I started photographing it was very dark and foggy. It began raining and the camera got wet. I was getting ready to drive away but then the fog began to lift and the sun almost came out. I hopped out of the car and took a few more pictures. About 10 minutes later the dark skies, fog, and rain reappeared. Nikon D50 / The photo shown below, “A Hint of Red” was taken of the same bog but in early Fall. / / !

  • Featured in All Countries~Wetlands, Ponds, Lakes, and Rivers I woke very early, and headed with my all my gear to a marsh not far from my place that has provided me with many photographic subjects. I was not to be disappointed with my lack of sleep, and the chill in the early morning air. Red-winged blackbird songs created a symphony of sounds, as the birds began their feeding, hopping from one lily pad to the next, finding grubs on the tops and often on the bottoms as they lifted the large leaves. Most of the action required that I shoot into the sun. I was not expecting great shots, but one or two captured the scene the way I witnessed it. In this shot a female is standing “ankle deep” in a pool of rain water on the surface of a large floating water lily, just as the sun is breaking the horizon and sending first beams of light onto this magical world. Nikon D300, Nikkor f4 600 mm lens and 1.4 teleconverter on a Gitzo 1325 tripod. Image captured about 20 kilometres west of Campbell River, on Vancouver Island, Canada.
