This was for a contest to re-create a Fairy Tale…It’s also my FAVE fairy tale AND the little girl in this is my Daughter. I took all Shots except the alley. The Teddy Bear beside my daughter used to belong to my husband when he was a very small toddler. Both the eyes and the nose are missing!!Used a pic from stock exchange! The Little Matchstick Girl( Hans Christian Anderson) / Most terribly cold it was; it snowed, and was nearly quite dark, and evening—the last evening of the year. In this cold and darkness there went along the street a poor little maiden with her tiny naked feet, that were quite red and blue from cold. She carried matches in an old apron. The flakes of snow covered her long hair, which fell in beautiful curls around her neck. From all the windows the candles were gleaming, for you know it was New Year’s Eve. In a corner formed by two houses, she seated herself down and cowered together. Her little feet she had drawn close up to her, but she grew colder and colder. Her little hands were almost numbed with cold. Oh! a match might afford her a world of comfort, if she only dared take a single one out of the bundle, draw it against the wall, and warm her fingers by it. Rischt. How it blazed, how it burnt,as she held her hands over it: it was a wonderful light. She rubbed another against the wall: it burned brightly, and where the light fell on the wall, she could see into the room. On the table was spread a snow-white tablecloth, and the roast goose was steaming famously with its stuffing of apple and dried plums. She lighted another match. Now there she was sitting under the most magnificent Christmas tree. The lights of the Christmas tree rose higher and higher, she saw them now as stars in heaven; one fell down and formed a long trail of fire. / “Someone has just died” said the little girl; for her old grandmother had told her, that when a star falls, a soul ascends to God. She drew another match against the wall: it was again light, and in the lustre there stood the old grandmother, with such an expression of love. Grandmother, cried the little one… ...She took the little maiden, on her arm, and both flew in brightness and in joy so high, so very high, and then above was neither cold, nor hunger, nor anxiety—they were with God.
THE FURIES (greek mythology) But not the less did the Furies cry out against him that he was accursed and given over to them as a prey; for that they were appointed of the Gods to execute vengeance upon evil-doers, of whom he was the chief, seeing that he had slain the mother that bare him. But while they thus cried out against him, there appeared the Goddess Athené, very fair to see, with the spear of gold in her hand; and she spake, saying, “From the banks of Scamander am I come, for I heard the cry of one that called upon my name. And now I would fain know what meaneth all this that I see. Who art thou, stranger, that sittest clasping this image? And who are ye that are so strange of aspect, being like neither to the Gods nor to the daughters of men?” Then the Furies made answer, “We will tell thee the matter shortly, daughter of Zeus. We are the children of Night, and we are called the Curses, and our office is to drive the murderer from his home.” Then said the goddess, “And whither do ye drive him?” “We drive him to the land where no joy abideth.” “And why do ye pursue this man?” “Because he dared to slay his mother.” / I have done alot of Photoshop work in the past year. I took an ass kicking from my photoshop teacher Charles. And it pissed me off so much I made this. / Funny how that works. I can honestly say that this is the proudest over a peice of work I have ever been
A freind of mine. / She graciously allowed me to use her body for my first nude photo shoot. / I was unware of the hearts coming off when I shot this…too focused on the lines of her body and DOF to notice the hearts came unstuck. I loved this shot and the golden light anyways. I did personally stick EVERY one of those hearts individually to her body with two sided tape…lol. / Quite a process
This was a shot of the Groom and his men at a wedding I did. I set up the shot having brought my own hat(see clockwork orange) and asked the guys to bring their sunglasses. Then the heavens opened and with the angels singing (Or so it seemed in my head anyways…wink)a beam of light shot thru the window and landed right on the groom. This was the end result. Also see the Godfather Returns for a compilation between Charles Winslow and myself

Photography done by ME!! A DRYADS POEM......... When meadows are grey with the morn / In the dusk of the woods it is night: / The oak and the birch and the pine / War with the glimmer of light. Dryads brown as the leaf / Move in the gloom of the glade; / When meadows are grey with the morn / Dim night in the wood has delayed. The cocks that crow to the land / Are faint and hollow and shrill: / Dryads brown as the leaf / Whisper, and hide, and are still. Siegfried Loraine Sassoon (1886 – 1967) * / *Dryads and Hamadryads in Greek Mythology / Dryads and hamadryads are two types of wood nymphs in Greek mythology. These female nature spirits were thought to inhabit trees and forests, and they were especially fond of oak trees. Dryads were often depicted in myth and art accompanied – or being pursued by – their male counterparts, the satyrs. Dryads, like all nymphs, were supernaturally long-lived and tied to their homes, but some were a step beyond most nymphs. These were the hamadryads who were an integral part of their trees, such that if the tree died, the hamadryad associated with it died as well. For these reasons, dryads and the Greek gods punished any mortals who harmed trees without first propitiating the tree-nymphs.[
I was out and about today on the Red Bubble Prowl…and came across Mel Brackstones Portfolio . Thru some conversation with her and some suggestions…I redid one of my pics RAW The suggestion was to make it more abstract and to bring out some more detail in the eye. I love the results, and thank-you so much Mel for the conversation!!
Don’t blink or I might just steal it away into the night…..... {Self Portrait} / Another experiment now that I have learned a new technique….one I have to say that has been escaping me FOREVER!!! Thanks Mel

For all the people in this world that dedicate their time to our children. Teachers, coaches and mentors. When children learn that they have no boundries, that they need to do their best no matter what…when they learn to have confidence in themselves…then they have learned so very much…and nothing can stop their dreams from taking flight…. ** / The model in this pic is one of my daughters team-mates on her Provincial Gymnastics Team. (LaLa Wu).Taken at a display called “Gymnestrada”. Their team is lucky to have two of the best coaches in the province. Thank-you to Kristi and Emily for all their hard work, dedication and unfailing expectation, that each girl does the best they can do…trains as hard as they can train, and to treat others with respect. A true TEAM….
BEST VIEWED LARGE, ONE CLICK ON THE PIC WILL DO IT Meet Casey and Katey Syni’ster. Fraternal twins born 7 weeks apart from one another. Most say that Casey was forced from her mothers womb in an act of unspeakable violence from her father. ALL say that this premature separation drove the twins quite mad. Casey shrieked and screamed like a possessed little demon till the moment her sister Katey was born and placed beside her in their crib 7 full weeks later. Her mother loathed this child (Casey that is) finding the screaming from the rotten little brat unbearable. Inevitably she dropped off this sweet baby to the church across the street and left her to the care of the nuns. (Please note that no one knows how the Syni’ster family managed to get their daughter back…of course the nuns taking care of baby Casey went missing sometime shortly after Katey’s birth!!!!!!!!) / / Neither child has shed a tear since the moment they were reunited. / / These girls “DO NOT PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS”....according to the teachers at school. They make a living of tormenting the other children around them. They are adored by their murderous parents…Although I can’t say that these sweet little angels feel the same way about mommy and daddy… I was lucky (or is it UNLUCKY) enough to spend a day with the Syni’ster Family and make it home alive. What I saw gave me HORRIFIC nightmares and I can’t say I am going to make it back there for dinner EVER again… There will be a series of pictures of the entire family (and my journals) to follow over the next few days and weeks, as I work on them….I hope they don’t find me….PLEASE GOD don’t let them find me!!!!!!!!!! If I go missing…please contact the authorities and send them to the general store in Ladywood, Manitoba….you will undoubtedly find my remains on the grounds somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST VIEWED LARGE, ONE CLICK ON THE PIC WILL DO IT CLICK HERE FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY I have no trouble at all telling you that these children frighten me to my very inner core. This is Katey, the youngest of the Twins, born 7 weeks after her fraternal sister’s violent arrival into this world. It is interesting to note here, that the church where Casey was abandoned is in the background of this picture. (minus the missing nuns of course) This church was left for the rats and the “Demon spawn in the general store” shortly after the nuns went missing. (This is an actual quote from the priest that was stationed in that church at the time of Casey’s short visit there. He had to be subdued and carted off for shOck treatment after my visit to the asylum he is currently being restrained in) I would like to take a moment here to discuss the very similar yet frighteningly different personalities of these two children. / Katey (above) is a very quiet, methodical little thing, with an extreme attention to detail and a FIERCE desire to be the best at what she does. Casey on the other (dismembered) hand is a very unpredictable, haphazard type of child (please understand I use the word “child” very loosely as I have no polite words to describe these two) Casey is prone to maniacal laughter and has random thoughts of hurting people, let’s call them whims. She is able to seize an opportunity immediately… the moment it comes up and make the most of it. (For example…the stray cat she nailed to the side of the shed when I was there, shortly after it had the misfortune of wandering by. Quick thinking on her part and no hesitation to just hop to it and get the job done) Katey is a thinker….a planner….and needs to understand exactly how things work. To put it into perspective, the very same cat would be caught studied, then studiously and surgically taken apart bit by bit. In truth I cannot decide which of the two girls is more of a danger to society…......Any thoughts on this??? I do have to say…when they are being charming…they are very VERY charming. Both are pretty girls…. I say this in ALL seriousness, this planet and the men on it will rue the day that Katey and Casey discover boys!!!!!!!!!!!! Dear God…..Help us all!!!!!!!!!! Next we will be joining the Syni’ster’s for dinner….please feel free to bring a doggie bag. I think you will need it…. CLICK HERE FOR THE NEXT PIC/JOURNAL IN THIS SERIES
