This little one was sitting on the floor at the wedding hall, / I thought she was so cute so I raised my camera to snap a pic, and the little monkey picked up her camera and snapped a pic of me right back…lol I didn’t even know she had a camera…. These female nature spirits were thought to inhabit trees and forests, and they were especially fond of oak trees. Dryads were often depicted in myth and art accompanied – or being pursued by – their male counterparts, the satyrs. Dryads, like all nymphs, were supernaturally long-lived and tied to their homes, but some were a step beyond most nymphs. These were the hamadryads who were an integral part of their trees, such that if the tree died, the hamadryad associated with it died as well. For these reasons, dryads and the Greek gods punished any mortals who harmed trees without first propitiating the tree-nymphs.[

I was out and about today on the Red Bubble Prowl…and came across Mel Brackstones Portfolio . Thru some conversation with her and some suggestions…I redid one of my pics RAW The suggestion was to make it more abstract and to bring out some more detail in the eye. I love the results, and thank-you so much Mel for the conversation!!

This was a shot of the Groom and his men at a wedding I did. I set up the shot having brought my own hat(see clockwork orange) and asked the guys to bring their sunglasses. Then the heavens opened and with the angels singing (Or so it seemed in my head anyways…wink)a beam of light shot thru the window and landed right on the groom. This was the end result. BEST VIEWED FULL SIZE YAY!!! / My first freakin upload in a long freaking time…sigh. Of course I had to burn this to a CD down Stairs, then bring it upstairs as my computer is still not hooked up to the net!!! This is my first ever sunset shot that I have ever taken. Shot while on a camping trip with the kidlets about 3 weeks ago, from the back of a speedboat. / What a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!! A little HDR work done, I kept it subtle, didn’t want it to be too noticable…

A freind of mine. / She graciously allowed me to use her body for my first nude photo shoot. / I was unware of the hearts coming off when I shot this…too focused on the lines of her body and DOF to notice the hearts came unstuck. I loved this shot and the golden light anyways. I did personally stick EVERY one of those hearts individually to her body with two sided tape…lol. / Quite a process

The world’s oldest living polar bear has died. Debby the polar bear was euthanized Monday after spending her final moments surrounded by zookeepers and veterinarians, the Assiniboine Park zoo announced. The polar bear’s health had been declining for several months but zoo officials said she remained active and alert until Monday, when a clinical exam indicated multiple organ failure. Born in Russia in 1966, Debby arrived at Winnipeg’s zoo as an orphaned cub the following year. She spent most of her life with her mate Skipper, and together they produced six surviving offspring. When Debby was 41 years old, she earned a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s oldest living polar bear. At 42, she was among the top three oldest bears ever recorded among all eight species of bears. “Debby was without a doubt the most famous animal in the Assiniboine Park Zoo’s 104-year history,” said zoo co-ordinator Dr. Gordon Glover. Getting a picture of this little girl was like trying to catch the wind. I must have taken 50 + pics of her and she was never looking at the camera. She made me work HARD for this pic, my fascination with eyes is once again showing, all I kept saying was…”I need her eyes, I NEED a pic of her eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Well here it is, and at her Momma’s request I am adding this to my portfolio here so she can share it with family and freinds!!!! Right next to his Dad in my son’s world stands PAPA. This man can calm the storm of impending doom( AKA the Temper Tantrum) just by walking into the room. Papa is Rhys’s hero, Papa teaches Rhys how to hold a hammer, and a screwdriver…and even how to tell little fibs so the big bad Momma doesn’t give him hell…lol Isn’t that what Papa’s are for….wink
