  • Amidst the highrise buildings of Melbourne’s city, icons of a bygone era still exist. Beneath the cone of Melbourne Central, the tower from an old lead shot factory has been encased for future generations to enjoy. Equal first in Images and Ideas challenge “Towering Over”

  • An eerie haze over the city of Melbourne from low cloud cover reflecting the spill of the city lights. A Ferris Wheel spins only occasionally entertaining a few tourists out on this cold night. Melbourne has a strong Art Culture, this sculpture of bells being one example. Art takes on many forms and, on this night, could have been a scene from a George Lucas space movie. Nikon D700, 24-70mm f2.8 lense at 24mm. 4 sec F11

  • The Dog. Man’s best friend. An animal that is born so soft, so adorable, so enticing that it will weaken even the toughest of mankind with emotion.

  • One day, you are just taking the moment to photograph some colourful architecture when in to frame walks a child on his way home from school. Do you wait till he passes by or take advantage of the way that he adds interest to your shot? Photographed in Charleton, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands using a Nikon D70 with the 18-80mm lense (just the cheapy) Since being on RedBubble, this image as attracted little attention and yet I do believe it to be the most unique image I have taken. This location is the furthest from the culture that surrounds me day to day.

  • Photographed on a rocky outcrop near Lorne, Australia Featured in “The Male Photographer”

  • Such large animals, no doubt they could tear you apart. But what about the “slightly colourful” nature of the beast. Photographed at the Melbourne Zoo. AVAILABLE Now! 2010 Calendar – Totally Wild for Black and White /

  • This photo has provoked some discussion as to whether the image is more powerful with or without the lips. It is an interesting discussion and I think I have concluded that by narrowing down the distractions from other features of the face, you draw more attention to the eyes. That is just my opinion and I would love to hear further feedback. Featured in “Pathway to the Soul”, “Bubblers Weekly Challenges” and “A Photographers Craft” This model is featured in my new Model Portfolio book, “Once… Twice…. Three times a Lady”. I would love to say that it is a very Dutch affair but I have been to Holland and this is WAY more Dutch then the Dutch actually are!!! Tourism?? • A visit to Melbourne’s original art gallery, The Victorian Art Centre, reaped some rewards. Disappointed by a lack of photography on display, I utilized the watery window facade of the gallery to create a ghostly moment of this obliging model. • The naked truth is in the eye of the beholder. With the bounce flash at hand and a simple pose against my apartment wall, I managed to achieve what I thought to be only possible in a studio. This pleases me as I was about to lash out on studio lights and a backdrop! Featured in “The Male Photographer” This model is featured in my newly released Calendar “Three times a Lady” AVAILABLE Now! 2010 Calendar – Three times a Lady /

  • I would never encourage breaking and entering or even trespassing but sometimes a photographer has to do what a photographer has to do when in need of a big empty warehouse. But then the owner left it unlocked, I was simply passing by and stepped in to check that everything was secure. Just happened to have a model and my beloved D700 with me! • I took a trip to the YouYangs (near Geelong) the other day for a model who needed some portfolio work done. Each location I visit reaps new opportunities to explore nature for its innovative back drops. Certainly beats being stuck inside a studio all day long under hot hot lights. Instead I got a tan in the 28 degree heat. I can think of worse ways to spend my day for sure! Mental note: don’t where my nice office clothes out in the field….grubby!! This model is featured in my new Model Portfolio book, “Once… Twice…. Three times a Lady”. A full preview of the book can be found by following the link below. AVAILABLE Now! • Photographed near the fire zone of 2009’s horrific King Lake fires, the sky dabbled with silhouettes of the burnt remains of trees looked truly remarkable. This model is featured in my newly released Calendar “Three times a Lady” AVAILABLE Now! 2010 Calendar – Three times a Lady /
