Marion, I hope this makes you smile… :) Collaboration with Marion, AKA: Lumineux / You can find the original here: Repose / / I started out with Marion’s wonderful B&W shot of a curious bird, then lightened it immensely, and painted over it. I then applied several filters and various other techniques as well as a layer of parchment paper and a vignette. / / Do check out more of Marion’s work here: Lumineux / / (she’s got a lot of great B&W’s!) / / If you’re interested in buying a card of this, or purchasing a print, please / contact Marion, where further arrangements can be made. This art work is in honor of Marion and Geoff’s wedding. There is no greater joy than sharing the path of life with the one you love. Marion and Geoff, as your two hearts become one, may each and every day greet you with a smile, keep love in your hearts and peace in your souls. I wish the both of you all the happiness that life has to offer. Today, tomorrow and always.
I had the great honor and privilege of working on this collaboration with dear friend and wonderful photographer, Marion Cullen. Marion’s work has always been a great source of inspiration for me. Her photography not only shows beauty and thought, but also has lots of feeling. / About the artwork: I blended together Marion’s photo, ‘Kindred Soul’ and my ‘Pondering Lion’ fractal. I tried to capture the feeling of Marion’s photo with the activity of my fractal. The end result was this. A pondering lion takes a moment to reflect on the kindred soul that once roamed free. This art work is for all of the animals that are held in captivity. / Title by Marion. :-) Please visit Marion’s Gallery Lumineux / You will always be greeted with a smile. :-) /

MARION CHAMPMAN is a wonderful artist and a lover of patterns and design.. Printmaking and experimenting with all kinds of materials and colors.. she really turns my head.. Marion… truth be told.. Kauai is not a very pastel-y place.. so I took my photo and gave it a Marion Wash.. I love this shot..I do not know what this is but I spent some time with this guy..It was a very tall tree and that is how the leaves grow on it.. no branches!! Marion’s Chapman’s Pastels inspired Maddy of Smudge ARt Fame to write a most lovely lovely piece.. My gratitude for the Love here is ever growing.. Thank YOu Maddy! What beauty is this I behold ? / “A feast to ones eye”, I am told. / Leaves wrapped in soft hues. / Colors of gold, red and spiritual blues. “A tree without branches ”, she did say. / Just leaves that enfold it in every way. / Lina sad, this tree amazed me so, / I could not look at it and just let it go. It inspired me until I returned home, / In my minds eye, this is the tone. / I know Creator left this for me to do, / So I painted it gold, red and spiritual blue.
created for feminine intent “I am woman, hear me roar!”
A view of the North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains from Lake Tahoma near the town of Marion. THe snow covered peaks in the upper left hand corner are the Seven Sisters and Mt. Mitchell. / THe lake was built in the 1920s real estate “boom” as a luxury development. The old building on the lake was a casino where well known bands performed regularly for dances. The 1929 stock market crash ended the development. Now the lake is owned by current property owners. THe casino has been renovated and is used for private special events. Nikon D50 /
