Aboriginal dreamtime tells the story of Old Woman Island creation. The story of two mighty men Coolum and Ninderry and a woman named Maroochy. In a climatic battle Ninderry knocked Coolum’s head from his shoulders into the sea to lie where it is today as Old Woman Island/Mudjimba Island.

Shot on film over a coral “bommy” in the ocean off Papua New Guinea. I like the painting – like texture and tones of the water and if you gaze or meditate a little on the water (with your eyes open), the mermaids appear…make the picture big first..!!! How many do you see??? / Enjoy..

Made in Ultra Fractal 5 and Photoshop CS. This is a Dist. Est. Ikenaga fractal, an unusual shape that inspired me to explore. I originally set out to make another piece of fractal jewelry, but ended up with a shape that looked a lot like an angelfish. I used Photoshop to add the fractal background and texture, and added a layer style to give the golden outline some shape. PLEASE LOOK AT THIS IN FULL VIEW. THE SMALLER, PREVIEW IMAGE MAKES IT LOOK AWFUL. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.

One of my divers checks out a Fried Egg Jellyfish. We have had a bit of an invasion of these this year. They are harmless and do not sting. Some if them were as big as trash can lids.
Ok its Seaweed or another name Multicellar Benthic Marine Algae, I found this washed ashore at Crystal Cove California and I liked the way it shimmered in the sand. Some Seaweed FACTS / Seaweed lack a specialized vascular system, roots, stems, leaves, and enclosed reproductive structures. With all parts of a seaweed in direct contact with the water, seaweed can absorb fluids, nutrients, and gases directly from the water and do not need an internal conducting system. / Seaweeds are like plants because it takes in sunlight to make food for itself, seaweeds are photosynthetic. Within their cells, seaweeds have chlorophyll which absorbs the sunlight needed for photosynthesis and is responsible for the green coloring of many seaweed. Some seaweeds also contain other light absorbing pigments that can be red, blue, brown or golden, creating the variety of different colored algae we’re able to find. Photo taken by Canon IXUS
