This shot was taken from the Destin Harbor – Destin, FL. The sunset cruises were coming in for the evening. This is one of the sunset cruises that I caught coming back into the harbor. During post processing in Photoshop I added a larger than life moon via the Lunar Cell filter. It seemed like it added a mysterious beckoning element to the photo. Taken on the Lake of Two Mountains, Quebec in the village of Oka on Monday June 9/08. This is just past the public docks and ferry system looking towards the west at the marina. The sun was starting to descend and cast a rosy glow on the water. Featured in the My Neighborhood group February 1st 2009 / Featured in Stillness Speaks group.

Oils on canvas. A different view of Kilrush. This was probably one of the most difficult paintings to do. The lovely, town of Kilrush, County Clare (my Irish hometown) with little details that took many hours to paint with a two-hair brush and a magnifying glass! Best viewed large.

Photo taken during Tall Ships Races 2009 / Location: Gdynia, Poland Pogoria (on the right) – a Polish barquentine launched in 1980 in Gdańsk. She was designed by Zygmunt Choreń. It’s 40,9m long, 33,5m high. On 7 July 2009 (just after Tall Ships Races), two of the masts on Pogoria broke at welded joints while the ship was en route to St Petersburg, Russia. The 37 youths onboard were airlifted off the ship by two helicopters of the Finnish Coast Guard. The ship was towed into Hanko as her engines were disabled in the incident.
