  • MARIACHI / Design by Sánchez / original artwork size: 15×18¨inches / 2009© About the piece: I usually dont talk about where i take my inspirations or ideas, i think at the end is not that relevant as the final result which is what matters at the end at least for me, but in this particular case i thought that it could be interesting. Some months ago i was driving very late at night i was getting back home from a party and i decided to take a short cut going trough the oldest part of the city, which is a very interesting place especially at night so i took a big avenue that leads to one of the biggest avenues in the city and turning in a corner i saw this very old truck crashed infront of a wall and i saw the ambulance guys just trying to pull out some persons out of the van and what i saw is like 4 mariachis coming of the van all covered in blood, wipping out the blood of their faces trying to stay on their feet and some others screaming for help i thought that maybe if i pass in that avenue maybe 15 mins earlier defintly i could became a witness of the crash in the very moment of happening, it was a very bizarre image, and when i say this i mean the context of the place where happend, specially like i said in that particular side of my city. Anyways just wanted to share it because sometimes i wish my eyes were a digital high resolution video camera to record that kind of events or images cheers friends!

I thought using a music sheet texture layer was the perfect complement to this photo. Another texture layer was also added. Photographed with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 with free texture layers from stock.xchng.com. “Mariachi Girl” has been featured in: / VISUAL ARTISTS OF GREEN VALLEY/November, 2009 / Top 10 in A PLACE TO CALL HOME’s “Song of the Heart” Challenge/November, 2009 /
