A portrait of a beautiful white horse
This is taken by Paul so please all credit to him (unless we get credit for raising the foal, but that should really go Genevieve – the mare – as she did all that work). The foal is Kennedy (the stallion is Fiddler).
A horse standing just inside her barn looking out. I just happened to be passing by and photographed her. There was a foal laying on the ground beside her.

This shot is from June 2005. I still try to get an even better one of a mare and a foal, but up to now I find it unequalled. So I share it with you here on Redbubble now too, after it has been on deviantArt for years, though differently cropped. March 2008 I’d pulled in to capture a picture of the Cooling Towers at the Ratcliffe-On-Soar Power Station in Nottinghamshire but on the walk from the car I just couldn’t believe the sky I saw on the way past this field. The clouds really were that shape. Taken on Nikon D40, 18-55mm Nikon lens at 18mm.
Oil painting of zebra stallions fighting for dominance over mares. Best viewed ‘large’. The original painting is 30×40 inches on blocked canvas and took just over 2 months to paint. The painting is mounted in a huge 1×1.25 metre frame.
Quick tonal study, oil painting. Diana-Lee Saville kindly nominated this painting to be added to the Pay-It-Forward Group. The nomination has been accepted which is a huge compliment to my work. This is what Diana-Lee had to say about this work “I would LOVE to nominate this Arab Mare and Foal. It is one of those works I can’t stop looking at!! It has a lovely old world feel to it.” Thankyou Diana-Lee, I feel honoured that my work is appreciated this way! Featured in the following groups: / Dimensions; Pets Are Us; Weekly Theme Challenges;
Slioch, and Loch Maree. (I think it is worth viewing larger!) This is one of my favourites for many reasons, but mainly due to the CD which was playing in the car as I toured the area – Long Distance, by Runrig. Such an inspirational band for me over the years…..... As such, I saved this until last of my images from my Scottish foray. I hope you have enjoyed viewing them over the last month or so. For now, its back to scratching what I can from the English landscape until May 2009, when, hopefully, there will be a few more surprises presented on RB. My next projects, involve a bit of experimental stuff, and more wildlife work, so, if I dont catch up with you over the festive period, please enjoy yours, and I hope 2009 is a bit brighter than the tail end of 2008 has been for many. All the best / Graeme
Four year old dressage mare
I had taken photos of many of these carved and painted horses from various carousels at parks and carnivals. My attempt to do something interesting with them. “A few verses from the Rolling Stones song WILD HORSES Childhood living is easy to do / The things / you wanted I bought them for you / Graceless lady you know who I am / You know I cant let you slide through my hands Wild horses couldnt drag me away / Wild, wild horses, couldnt drag me away I watched you suffer a dull aching pain / Now you decided to show me the same / No sweeping exits or offstage lines / Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind Wild horses couldnt drag me away / Wild, wild horses, couldnt drag me away

A colorful stylized red horse prances on a gold background. Oil pastels and gold paint on watercolor paper. The many layers of oil pastel was “texturized” with crosshatching by an exacto knife. I had given up doing artwork seriously for many years and this was my first artwork that I completed after I decided to go back to my arts roots and I quit my day job and became a full time artist / designer.
