This is one hell of an old Japanese Maple. It was brought here from Japan around 100 years ago and planted in one the Dandenong Ranges oldest gardens.
autumn colors in the forest
A vertical shot of the famous tree in the Portland Oregon Japanese Gardens :) /
A rework of a previous image. Frost on our japanese maple tree, a couple of winters ago. It can get cold in the Adelaide Hills! Location – Nairne. This image was published in Australian Traveller magazine in Dec/Jan 2009, and won me a Fujifilm digital camera If you like Frosted Maple Leaf you may also like Sugared Maple here:
Finally I got out amongst the autumn trees today with two of my photography students. Plus I had a little time myself to shoot some of the trees in Yoyogi Park on what was a beautiful day with gorgeous light. This pic is currently in the ‘Zen’ competition at JPEG magazine. If you fancy voting for it, click below: http://www.jpgmag.com/photos/1247898 Nikon D300 / 80-200mm f/2.8 ED IF / Hasselblad border film scanned in [this pic just seemed to suit a square composition]
As the water passes by me so does the Autumn season. By the time I am able to return to this spot the colors will have mostly been blown unto the winds. Seasons pass so quickly, much as our lives if we live for today and not for eternity. I am honored to have to selected as members all time favorite by Global Photo’s.”All his work is outstanding and showcases the very best nature has to offer. Was very hard to select just one. Have chosen this one because it is simply stunning. Gorgeous colours, lush greens and perfect exposure :))” http://www.redbubble.com/people/globalphotos
Another shot of the same Japanese maple tree as in Eden I at the Portland Oregon Japanese Gardens, except this one was shot exactly one week after. It is amazing how fast seasons can change :) As is. Info for Sold! />Sold a “Framed Print” to mjr1978 / / /
Colorful maple leaves scattered across moss covered boulders as a small streams tumbles around a bend in Washington near Mt. Rainier

Sequel to: [link] Hope you guys like it! Shot against an overcast sky, sorry for the out of focus area; I had to shoot at f/4.
A spot I found a couple of years ago and decided that now would be a great time to visit given the peak fall colors. What I didn’t count on was all the blowdown from last winter which made this short journey a 2 hour scramble over and under rock and log. I think the hike was worth it! Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream as it flows over boulder and rock.
A rushing creek and a few fallen leaves taking a brief respite from thier rapid trip downriver via breeze and rushing water. The rocks offer a brief sacntuary before they are swept away into the coming winter.
A beautiful shot of a maple trees in the fall with the contrasting sky above. Taken in true Infrared to highlight the foliage and contrast the sky. The leaves were a bright yellow. Rendered as a duo-tone. Location: Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada. Canon G2 with Infrared R72 filter, / HDR , 3 frames, bracketed., processed with Photoshop CS3

A lone maple leaf somehow stuck to rotting tree trunk, mayb e caught on the lichen. Both tree and leaf appear close to be reclaimed by the forest itself.
Yesterdays shooting where I had to scouted this canyon and slid down in from the top and followed the water down a 1/2 mile before I could find a spot to climb out. Some nice Autumn leaves line a tumbling stream near Mt. Rainier
Well, I spotted this out on my Saturday hike from above and scouted for a way down into the capture the scene. What I found was a impenetrable blend of steep banks and thick brush covered in Poison Ivy and Devils Club. Common sense told me to let it go but in the end I slid down using my tripod as a walking stick and managed to get to waters edge with both feet and behind a bit wet. I hope it was worth it for it seemed so at the time to me. Golden leaves on a moss covered boulder in a small stream contrast nicely against rushing water
US$4.49–US$102.60
I spent some time at the beautiful Rikugien Park today. This little detail of branches, leaves and bokeh caught my eye soon after arriving at the park. Nikon D300 / Nikkor 80-200mm f/2.8 ED IF @ f/2.8
