Opening the channels of energy so that your life force flows freely, is the basis of Primordial Sound. In Tantric tradition, the approach is like tuning the human instrument, so it may play a more enlightened song. Each chakra is believed to hold a primordial sound that opens and clears these vital energy centers. Using the power of your attention and intention dissolves the impurities that may limit the most clear expression of your life force. / Sit comfortably, focusing on each chakra (beginning at the Root), sequentially bringing your focus onto each and sounding aloud the mantra for that chakra. / Take a deep breath and release the sound for each chakra: / Root Chakra (base of spine – coccyx) – mantra LAM (red) / Sacral Chakra (abdomen) – mantra VAM (orange) / Solar Plexus (center, above belly button) – mantra RAM (yellow) / Heart Chakra (between breastbone) – mantra YAM (green) / Throat Chakra (indent/adam’s apple) – mantra HAM (torquoise/blue) / Third Eye Chakra (forehead between eyes) – mantra SHAM (indigo) / Crown Chakra (top of head) – mantra AUM (violet) / Release the sound as if it were emanating from that place in your body, allow the sounds to raise your energy levels. The pronunciation for all the mantras are similar to the sound of Ahhhh (when said in relief or a ‘how sweet’ sentiment. / This is an excerpt from my book ‘Beyond Symptoms’ and a daily practice that I was taught by Deepak Chopra and David Simon at their Center for Well Being in Carlsbad, California in 2002. This image is taken from a collection of work titled ‘Journey into the Pure Lands’. These images were taken in the winter of 2003 during a four week trek through the Nepal Himalayas Everest region. We climbed as far as Gokyo, reaching 5500m above sea level. I undertook this journey for a number of reasons. That year had been difficult and had involved loss, at this point in my life I felt that I had nothing to lose but to take up the challenge of trekking a mountain in Nepal. I had always dreamed of doing this, not only for the landscape, but also so I could draw near to the heart of Tibetan Buddhism, something that has influenced my life for a long time. I was not sure what I wanted to find, maybe a challenge to revitalize my life, or to give myself time and space to find some clarity. What I did find was one hell of a challenge! The struggles caused by temperatures dropping as low as -15 and the impact of high altitude really helped me put into perspective some of the emotional adversity I had experienced. The richness and mysticism was a photographers dream, but most of all I was inspired by the peace, humour and great strength I found amongst the Tibetan and Nepalese people despite the adversity they had faced. There was a sense of space and clarity, not just in the landscape, but also amongst many of whom we met. At the end of a hard days trekking the clouds would gather beneath us forming a white blanket almost real enough to walk on. I could describe it as nothing less than the pure lands depicted within Buddhist imagery.
Mystical manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, beloved Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion, maybe better known to the Chinese as Kwan Yin (Quan Yin), or as Kannon to the Japanese. This version shows 11 heads and 8 principal arms, no way i was going to attempt to draw the other 992 arms. Om Mani Padmi Hum, (The Jewel in the Lotus), mantra of Avalokiteshvara, is shown at the bottom in Tibetan script.

PLEASE VIEW LARGE.. !! This was taken early in the morning as we arrived for our journey to the Elephant Seal area. Mists and light and Peace. Taken in the Año Nuevo SNR State Natural Reserve Northern California / ELEPHANT SEAL AFTERNOON I have used this form of morning meditation for quite some time and feel the ease of this practice and results in a more generous day with better focus. This is a meditation to begin the day. In a seated pose, focus on your breath. Cultivate a steady, relaxed breath. Then ask yourself: What is my intention today? After posing the question, rest your attention on the out-breath. This creates a spaciousness of attention on the in-breath. There is no direction for the in-breath. Do not get carried away by thinking, but also do no tightly control the attention. Continue to notice each out breath. Sit until you are struck by a clarity of intention. It comes not by chasing it down with thinking, but by stilling the mind and creating space. It may take a few minutes, or much longer. If no specific intention announces itself to you, simply commit to acting ethically and with mindfulness. That is certainly an intention that we can all practice each day. This meditation seems simple, and it is simple. It’s power lies in its ability to help us act intentionally throughout the day. If you practice this meditation each morning, you will find yourself more ‘awake’ behind the wheel of your life*.

From an original pastel drawing by MoonSpiral. Om Shanti Om is a mantra for peace and she represents that spirit of peace.
In March of this year, my husband Lynn and I had the great pleasure of meeting, sharing and being blessed by Lindsay Wagner (deeksha blessing), by participating in an experiential workshop, she calls “Quiet the Mind, Open the Heart”. In addition, I was further blessed by being invited to her home for a private session for several hours, where she re-awakened my knowledge of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and also known by several other names. She also reminded me how our past experiences, with our inner file cabinets, color our perceptions of the world and our reactions to it. Like a particular incident that causes pain that we refuse to allow to heal, and even though we are very intelligent, our familial and/or societal upbringing, beliefs and responses can program us to react in ways that rob our joy in daily life. She helped me to explore my prior programming and shift my perspective beyond it, “to experience life as it is in the moment.” / One of the most profound gifts she gave me were the words upon this image, a new daily practice of mine ~ while touching just above the heart in a circular motion, I say each of these phrases three times, especially when experiencing any stress, but most often a daily mantra. It has had such a healing effect on regaining some power within my life, I thought I would share it here. / Image is a sketch of scales balanced, photographed and edited in photoshop7 with fractilius filter and text. / My hope and intention is that those that will benefit from this simple tool, will utilize and share it to heal themselves and others. / / Feelings
Chaos is defined as the confused unorganized state existing before the creation of distinct forms; the inherent unpredictability in the behavior of a complex natural system (as the atmosphere or the beating heart). / Chaos magic is a school of the modern magical tradition which emphasizes the pragmatic use of belief systems and the creation of new and unorthodox methods. / Although there are a few techniques unique to chaos magic (such as some forms of sigil magic), chaos magic is often highly individualistic and borrows liberally from other belief systems, due to chaos magic having a central belief that belief is a tool. Some common sources of inspiration include such diverse areas as science fiction, scientific theories, traditional ceremonial magic, neoshamanism, Eastern philosophy, world religions, and individual experimentation. Despite tremendous individual variation, chaos magicians (or “chaotes”) often work with chaotic and humorous paradigms, such as the worship of Hundun from Taoism or Eris from Discordianism. They commonly also use psychedelic drugs in a practice known as chemognosticism. / Chaos magic claims that belief can be an active magical force. It emphasizes flexibility of belief and the ability to consciously choose ones beliefs, hoping to apply belief as a tool rather than a relatively unchanging part of ones personality. Various psychological techniques are employed in order to induce flexibility of belief. Other chaos magicians suggest that people need no “belief” to work magic. / In mathematics, chaos theory describes the behavior of certain dynamical systems – that is, systems whose states evolve with time – that may exhibit dynamics that are highly sensitive to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity, which manifests itself as an exponential growth of perturbations in the initial conditions, the behavior of chaotic systems appears to be random. This happens even though these systems are deterministic, meaning that their future dynamics are fully defined by their initial conditions with no random elements involved. This behavior is known as deterministic chaos, or simply chaos. / Chaotic behavior is also observed in natural systems, such as weather. This may be explained by a chaos-theoretical analysis of a mathematical model of such a system, embodying the laws of physics that are relevant for the natural system. / This “Chaos Star” was created while I contemplated the spiritual and creative awakening of humanity, which has been gaining momentum in my lifetime (although it’s been seemingly chaotic) whilst millions of trailblazers have already made it through the shift and into a new awareness, reality and consciousness to experience new levels of creativity. Those who follow their hearts to express their inner joy through making their own meaningful contributions to the betterment of our world through responsible freedom, intuitive development and global view bringing forth the exploration of the spiritually-inspired use of the power of the mind to transform reality for the better. Now a mantra to share “Powerful Creativity” to experience a whole new level of peace, joy and harmony… CHAOS
