  • A Fish Out of Water

There’s more ocean in fish than fish in the ocean… Nature is wise, but Mankind… just bumbling fools. Learn from the living, watch water in motion, Don’t waste your time staring at small stagnant pools. Fish are content to live their life in water, Water is after all their life’s element. There’s no need for them to be an “achiever,” Living, staying alive… that’s accomplishment. But there was one fish wanting something “better”, He wanted “achievement,” he wanted a “first.” He leapt out of water, fins in quick flutter, Taking fast to the sky… but soon died of thirst… / / Poem by Peter. • Mohammad Ali quotes T-Shirt design The Following Ali quotes make up the Ali image: A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. / Boxing is a lot of white men watching two black men beat each other up. / Frazier is so ugly that he should donate his face to the US Bureau of Wild Life. / Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. / At home I am a nice guy: but I don’t want the world to know. Humble people, I’ve found, don’t get very far. / Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesn’t matter which color does the hating. It’s just plain wrong. / He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life. / I am the greatest, I said that even before I knew I was. I figured that if I said it enough, I would convince the world that I really was the greatest. / I hated every minute of training, but I said, “Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.” / I know I got it made while the masses of black people are catchin’ hell, but as long as they ain’t free, I ain’t free. / I’ll beat him so bad he’ll need a shoehorn to put his hat on. / I’m so fast that last night I turned off the light switch in my hotel room and was in bed before the room was dark. / If you even dream of beating me you’d better wake up and apologize. / It’s hard to be humble, when you’re as great as I am. / It’s just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up. / It’s not bragging if you can back it up. / My toughest fight was with my first wife. / The man who has no imagination has no wings. / When you can whip any man in the world, you never know peace. • A Thought, A Dream
    by Alex Worsley

    US$3.99–US$91.20

In a place as surreal as this, its hard not to day dream. This was taken at an ancient, monastery which was destroyed by Henry the eighth once upon a time. Sort of represents what i was feeling at this time, not this exact moment but this part of my life. Stopping for a second, trying to figure out where wanted to go, how i would get there. Taking a brief moment to reflect.

  • Living (in mono)
    by Chris White

    US$4.32–US$98.80

With 6277 views 71 favouritings and 3 sales, this is probably by far my most popular image: / I shot it on my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot S80 compact in the main street of Kempsey NSW on a particularly trying road trip for work. It was a lucky shot, I just thought the billboard was a fairly self-reflexive thing to find in a rundown country town, but when this dejected guy limped into the shot it made it into a poignant statement. Having moved on in the equipment and (hopefully) skills aspects of my photographic practice due mainly to the encouragement I received here in the early days, I often look back at this image and see things I could improve with it. One of the assignments for a course I am doing is to convert an RGB image to greyscale. I’ve applied noise reduction, and unsharp mask, then tonal and exposure adjustments in the green channel. After converting to greyscale, I’ve despeckled it a bit and clone stamped out any larger specks that stand out more in greyscale. I’ve also cropped it a bit tighter and increased the resolution by decreasing the image size rather than interpolating. Wow, that was boring. Anyway, please enjoy the new mono version of Living. “You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake…” / / / / / / / /
