Unfortunately this is one of the areas that was affected by “Black Saturday”, I am so hoping that this little pocket of Myrlte beech forest wasnt touched by the fires. There were fires in the Blue Range, Marysville National park. The Myrtle beech trees have been around since the Jurassic period. I stood in the river with my jeans rolled up to my knees, the water had slowed nearly to a stillness as it gathered around the rocks in the water that were covered with moss, as I hit the timer button on my camera in that 10 seconds I had time to reflect on the raw beauty of this ancient forest. The forest that stood before me was thousands of years old. It was summer out beyond these beautiful old trees it was a stinking hot day, the flies stuck to my body, I found relief in the river and under the ancient old tree. Under the ancient trees it was freezing, for some strange reason it was like the middle of winter under the trees and my feet and legs were numb from the icy water that I stood in. Every year my mother plants zinnias in her garden; I love their rich vibrant colors and their sunny “dispositions.” This collage is a tribute to that wonderful summer flower.

A lot of layers, yes. I dedicate this work, my first new Digital image in months, to Hilton. I hope he can understand that all of my behaviors have been motivated by my current mental state, and have never once meant to reflect upon him as a person I care about. I’m little good to anybody when mania hits, drops, and then my affect blunts, but I wish I could somehow better make those I care about see how mixed up I am in my own flesh, feeling or not, and find a way to assure them it is my failing as a person, never theirs as one deserving my time. Nothing cutesy today my friends – nothing in my current world light enough to make so of.
It was a very cold January afternoon when I took these pictures of a kayak racer practicing his techniques on the Long Tom River. This is where the Long Tom River comes out of Fern Ridge Dam overflow in Lane County, Oregon / The camera I used was a; / Canon PowerShot SX 10 IS / In Program mode with ISO 100
This an improved edition of this model: colours of the shoes have been lightened and improved for a better printing result on black t-shirt. For all the shoe maniacs out there…. This shoe was my first attempt at vector art. I isolated the right shoe in my photo Social Climber and went to work to transform it into vector art. Thirty-five layers and 10 hours later (told you it was my first!), this was the result! Black T-shirt sold on February 11, 2009
The photograph this drawing is based on was a 35 mm slide I took about a year ago. Malvern road runs east to west, so the setting sun really perked up the colours inside and out of the tram. The tram was empty except for the driver, altough I think it’d help the scale of the image if there were some seated passengers. The image to me has a kind of manic state of mind attatched; everything is slightly off kilter, ultra saturated, and dazzling in some areas.
Where I live in Southern Oregon, we are lucky enough to have pansies bloom, in the winter and spring. If they are in a sheltered place, they also like to bloom in the summer. What a feeling of joy to see all of these beautiful little faces watching you as you go by on your way to the garbage can. When you spy them, your mind leaves the garbage behind and you can’t help but smile, for in a world full of garbage, there near your back door, is a carpet of joy! Orton effect applied:
