Flood tide at Ningi – Across the passage from Bribie Island 5000+ views Sold two large mounted prints about a year apart – through RedBubble – to unknown buyers Other Seascapes /
This photo was taken just south of Fraser Island in Queensland. With a 30 second exposure at f10 this gave the picture a fairly surreal feel about it.
Dawn at Cape Tribulation, Far North Queensland, where the Daintree Rainforest meets the Great Barrier Reef.
Mangrove shoots are reflected in the calm water in a local wetlands reserve (marsh for our overseas friends). This was taken on a nature walk just a km from my house.

Last one for the series. Similar to Fluid but different. / / I really liked the darkness at the top and bottom of this one. / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /
This is a cross between a seascape and an architectural shot, for those that are never sure which they prefer…... A once it a lifetime image. This hasn’t been altered or photoshopped in any way. Even in the plant world you can find love. A lonely mangrove hoping to attract another lonely mangrove. Taken at Weyba Creek, Sunshine Coast.
Taken at Celestun in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula these flamingos are feeding in amazing numbers in a tidal estuary flanked by mangrove forests… tho there used to be even more until some recent hurricanes dispersed some of the breeding groups to elsewhere… more details here Taken with a compact camera as I was not confident in taking my new dslr afloat on a boat trip yet! Pity tho – an opportunity well and truly missed! And here is a shot of a mangrove pool in the nearby forest /
Sunset reflection on a Mangrove sapling. Canon 1000D.
Merging of 2 Images here, with added reflections and heart.. This is for anyone who needs their heart rescued :) White-bellied Sea Eagle from Rainbow Beach in QLD, and sunset reflections in the mangrove area of Lake Weyba QLD. You might notice here the Mangrove Sapling in another picture I have Mangrove Sapling. Please if I could have your honest opinions on this one, good or bad :) Canon 50D Eagle, Canon 1000D Sunset water mangroves..
Another in the Mangrove Sapling series, this one Lake Weyba again, with 2 tall saplings. Unaltered photograph, except for light noise removal :) Canon 50D, 18mm. Available Large, and best viewed LARGE.

An old boat holding rainwater, moored amongst the mangroves along the Manning river, Cundletown, N.S.W. Australia. NikonD40 on auto. If you like this / Click Here for other Riverscapes / Click Here for other photos taken at Cundletown
I also took this… Location – a muddy path somewhere on Kooragang Island.
16×20 acrylic on canvas This idea came to me after watching Man Vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel. The episode was basically about Bear vs. the Mangroves in I believe Tailand? (Correct me if i’m wrong though!) I always thought of the mangroves as this beautiful tropical area, and inside of them it’s really sort of gross, the bacteria filled waters, all the dead roots and animals and bugs everywhere. I was sort of grossed out. This Painting is the way that I saw the Mangroves in my own head before actually seeing them with my own eyes. These birds are all native birds to Mangroves in different regions. The Egret, Red Lory and Mangrove Pitta birds. I really like the way that it came out, and I hope you do to! 5th place in the Mother Nature and our Environment / Global Warming Effects Challenge in the First Things Group
I’m still looking for some peace….this is another view from my shoot at Ningi, in Oct 2006, when I also shot Serenity Canon 5D, 50mm, f22, 5 seconds, ISO 100 OTHER BEACH SHOTS / REAL ESTATE SERIES / NEW ZEALAND / FROGS / LENSBABY / INFRARED / INDUSTRIAL / SPAM / PANORAMAS / LANDSCAPES
Another of the beautiful features of Noosa Heads, is Weyba Creek and Lake Weyba. Just before the Noosa River exits to the Pacific Ocean, there is a offshoot called Weyba Creek. This feeds from Lake Weyba, nestled in the Noosa National Park area, Queensland, Australia. These river systems are all part of the Noosa Biosphere, and are home to many species of bird and animal life. Much of it, untouched by man, which is the way is should stay… Canon 50D, 16mm, 5:00pm. Available Large and best viewed Large! :)

The beginnings of the Earth was a very violent place. Molten rock, fire spewing from the hundreds of volcanoes. Nothing could possibly survive on this new planet. After millions of years, the oceans began to fill up, possibly from the bombardment of astriods and comets, bringing with it ice from space. Things changes dramatically, and life befan to flourish.. When I first viewed this image from the camera, I though, it looks like the sky is on fire, and the water is molten rock. Then this small bloom of life in the forground.. Lake Doonella, sunset, Noosaville, Queensland, Australia. Canon 5D Mk II, 50mm. Available very Large, and best viewed Large!
Young Draven (8) was patiently posing for me on this long exposure (4 seconds). This young kid has already a fantastic eye for composition. Numerous times he has seen something from his perspective and with his imagination that it is only a matter of time he will come up with his own vision and surprise us all. Meanwhile he is happy to carry my tripod and press the button on my cable release. / Any sponsors out there? I love the shape of these mangrove trees…in fact I am a devoted tree photographer just in case you haven’t noticed
A very shallow tidal lagoon…and everything seems to reflect. The mangrove even if just tiny was so beautiful to watch. The aerial roots were arranged like a star around the tiny mangrove shrub. Thanks to my mate Glen for the modeling with his hat. I look forward to a return visit to that Mangrove in a few years time
An lone tree stands vigil on King Island, Moreton Bay, Qld. Australia. / Infrared shot taken with a Pentax K100D Super. / Nice clouds that day. / 3 secs @ f8
This tree has a bit of a story I suppose. Those living in the Brisbane area know it as “Garry’s” tree….just kidding. It is a fantastic subject both for Sunrises and Sunsets and even night shots. Go and get it…hehe
