Yellow Brick Road. I love hearing what people see in this painting!
The original vintage postard was already a piece of art, and it was used with permission…. LONGING… “People of this world are deluded. They’re always longing for something – always, in a word, seeking.” / - Bodhidharma -

“Music is moonlight in the gloomy night of life.” / Jean Paul (German Author)
This is an acrylic painting originally painted on canvas panel. I was moved to paint this piece due to all of the escalating violence in Richmond, CA and the rest of the Bay Area.

Oils 36”x24” on canvas board (2006) / Commission – SOLD This painting was a commission that took several months to complete. I took individual photos of the bull & the cows & combined them into this portrait. The background is actually the paddock where the bull lives, a farm located past Wingham, in the Manning Valley NSW. After wandering around the many cows & calves with the camera I picked out the most colourful ones to paint alongside the bull. The large brindle Brahma cow was a spectacular animal so she was one of the main choices. / The gum trees in the background were a perfect setting for / the portrait. A photograph of a graffiti artist in action, spray painting a wall in Sheffield
I posted this as one of my first images on the bubble. I just realized that I have never revisited it or added it to any groups. / I noticed the views it had acquired were quite low. It will be interesting to see if adding it to groups makes a significant change… 72” x 27” / Ronan Aquacote H2O based sign enamels on a recycled wooden sign. oil on canvas – for physics and metaphysics majors, and laymen who enjoy thinking about imponderables. Einstein thought that the universe could be precisely described. His view is on the right. Heisenberg thought that you could never exactly describe the universe, and that in some cases an object could actually exist at two places at the same time. His theory is on the left. Since all is flux, the observer might be impartial, but today he is partial. Like an IMAX theater, if you experience dizziness or nausea, just turn your head and the feeling should subside! The very first large-scale inkrub I ever pulled, and the first of the “Icons” Series…captures part of the opening sequence in the original “Godfather”...created using inkub, graphite, and white conte on collaged newspaper. Featured in “Get Art Promoted”.
continuing to explore this idea ... and it did take me somewhere quite unexpected …. will try again … acrylic, ink and crayons on draw&wash paper, larger A3 size
I’m glad I have these few inks still out…I have been using them a lot, and will have to buy more soon….I love the combination of sepia and black….. / “The Beach” appears very mysterious in these colours and I think that they give more impact than the conventional indigo…..a bamboo stick/pen was used for the wheeling birds….a couple more days and the room will be completely empty, so I am painting like mad... see others from the series below Inks on Cotton Paper The sea is calm to-night. / The tide is full, the moon lies fair / Upon the straits;—on the French coast the light / Gleams and is gone; the cliffs of England stand, / Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay. / Come to the window, sweet is the night-air! / Only, from the long line of spray / Where the sea meets the moon-blanch’d land, / Listen! you hear the grating roar / Of pebbles which the waves draw back, and fling, / At their return, up the high strand, / Begin, and cease, and then again begin, / With tremulous cadence slow, and bring / The eternal note of sadness in.
