  • it does not get campier than this / hehe part of a ttv (through the viewfinder) series Theory: / TTV (Through The Viewfinder) photography is when you use an old medium format camera and a digital camera. / These old medium format twin reflex cameras have large viewfinders. Firstly you compose your image using the medium format camera (in my case i have used a mamiya c33) then you actually take the picture using a digital camera (here i use my pentax K10) of what is in the viewfinder of the old camera.

  • Pick of the role – some syntilating succulents from our back garden. Camera: Mamiya c33, with Mamiya-Sekor 65mm lens on tripod Film: 120mm ILFORD FP4 Exposure: roughly f16 at a secound or so

  • HEhe i love this expression its perfect for geekchic role! I think I was telling her how much the camera i was using cost…. over £18,000…. now you all have the same expression! Hehehe

  • Lillydale Falls. / To the North East of Launceston Tasmania lies the wonderful village of Lillydale, this is the gateway to some of the most beautiful scenery in Tasmania. Just East of Lillydale are the stunning Lillydale Falls. Just a short and easy walk from the carpark. This shot was captured with my trusty old Mamiya ZM SLR (nearly 30 years old!) an equally old Mamiya 28mm lens and Fuji Velvia 50, Tripod mounted and very wet shoes. / I also used a polarising filter, which I did think was a grave mistake at the time, in such low light, but when converted to B&W , It took on quiet a personally pleasing effect, I hope you like it too. Best viewed large.

  • Like vintage wines or collectible automobiles, these beautiful old cameras are for using. Here is something that you can give to your “gearhead” film-loving friend or relative.

  • new orleans, la., usa 2008 / mamiya, film i seldom, pose anyone, i cant stand the idea,... yet while visiting new orleans, this fellow came walking up, and i knew i wanted his photo, that he was it for the morning photo journey. i talked to him, and as most homeless guys he was not so interested in having his photo taken, i assured him he would never be seen, yet i would capture something important that he was, and that i saw….. he agreed to let me try, i turned him away from me, and had him lean against the pole…. it worked for me, and him… i thanked him and gave him some $$ for his time and trust…. this was one of the few times i was glad to have digital, so he could see what was going to be done, had been done…. i also shot this with b/w film , 120mm, mamiya….. only 5 prints will be made.

  • Taken on the Great Ocean Road, near Lorne, Victoria. Shot with a Mamiya RZ67 on Fuji Velvia 50 ISO film. Don’t remember the exposure settings I used, but I know it was a 50mm lens (equivalent to 24mm in 35mm format). Scanned and only minor editing in Photoshop (dust removal, levels, sharpening). The colours are as they were on the original slide.
