I have got to the time in my life where I just like curling up in front of the tele with a glass of red, I know, it sounds pathetic but Friday Night ABC and a Bottle of Cab Sav and I’m yours. Original Oil on Canvas, Not sure if it is finished yet.

Our family often makes the effort to camp under the stars. We are truly blessed with some of the most beautiful country in the world. It is free to enjoy and yes, it doesn’t get much better than this…..well maybe a glass of red as well. Oil painting on paper which is yet to dry.

Brown and cream abstract of entwined lovers. An original 50×40 handpainted canvas. I Have recently been approached by friends (Julie and Sonja) and contributers to the Derbyshire Rainbow Fringe Festival to donate works of art for their forthcoming 2010 events. The purpose of DRFF is to: / Formative Aims: / 1.Increase local awareness of the LGBT community as we work towards the elimination of homophobia, transphobia and homophobia, transphobia, notably through participation in the arts, sport and heritage. / 2.Showcase and celebrate the LGBT community whilst at the same time having wider appeal in Derbyshire as a whole, cutting across sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, age, culture/faith in an inclusive event; / 3.Provide an opportunity for the wider Derbyshire community to engage with the LGBT Community using sport, artistic expression and heritage as vehicles / 4.Provide an opportunity for the LGBT community and others to engage in sporting activity and heritage preservation / 5.Create an archive and other resources from which LGBT history can be researched, preserved and celebrated / 6.Create projects which will actively engage the LGBT under 25s and over 65s in art, sport and heritage. / 7.Create projects and activities which enhance and engender community cohesion, equality and human rights. 4.5×6.5 inches, watercolor and gouache, 2009. Zephyrus, the Greek god of the west wind, attempting to seduce Hyacinthus, a Spartan youth. Zephyrus had fallen in love with him but so had Apollo, whom Hyacinthus chose over Zephyrus.

A good friend on Red Bubble, John Absher, told me about the Bird Jam, Ipod, that has hundreds of bird songs and pictures on it, a perfect way to learn how to recognize native songbirds and to even attract them! I followed his advice and invested in this little gadget and have been amazed at how responsive birds can be to the calls. Sometimes they come and sometimes they don’t, but it’s always a challenge to see what will happen. One day in April, I decided to put the Ipod on my patio wall and play the painted bunting song. Within a few moments, I got the surprise of my life. A female painted bunting landed right on the Ipod and stayed there a good while, looking left, right, up, down, wondering where in the world her mate was. It was though she was saying, “I can hear you, but where are you, Honey?” Since that memorable day, the tune doesn’t seem to attract them any longer. They aren’t “bird brains” as some think; these little creatures learn fast. I may have fooled them once, but I doubt I’ll fool them twice. I thought some of you might get a kick out of this image. By the way, the painted buntings are still in my yard and vicinity. I hear the male singing lustily all the time, but he’s much too clever to show himself. He knows there’s an imposter in his territory, and he won’t even so much as respond to the fake bird’s cry! Neither does his mate! (I added the male’s picture on the Ipod screen for extra effect. I also apologize for the lack of quality in this shot; Mrs. Bunting caught me unaware and I had to shoot at an odd angle in order to get this picture; not the best but fun anyway).

A digital painting from one of my SP’s.. Created using photoshop CS4 and graphic tablet….......... I basically placed an original SP of myself under my tablet and traced from there… This was my 3rd attempt after completely getting the first 2 wrong… I was finally happy with this attempt.
