  I see I did two Features on Russell. Chalk it up to my being so impressed, I guess. Or to my being so tired. Today I have a Featured Artist whose work is a 360 from most other’s work I’ve Featured. MAGO (MAGUS, or Wise Man, or Wizard in English) has a very cosmopolitan and European style of Art. He’s obviously a fan of Picasso (El Maestro) and others of that genre. Mago’s art contains a lot of *nudes— that is, *innocent, unselfconsicous unclothed subjects, which I don’t find objectionable. It’s “naked” I don’t care for: Unclothed, self-conscious, alluring on purpose subjects. And Mago’s hilarious cartoons often feature nudes.   Featured in the BITS AND PIECES GROUP 24 Aug 2008 (Is this what you expected of my portrait, my friends?) Jan and Dean sang about her, everybody loved her, no one would ride with her: Let’s have a hand for the Little Old Lady from Pasadena! Li’l ole lady, kids call her Gran, / Li’l ole lady she’s long lost her man. / Li’l ole lady, respectful and kind, / Li’l ole lady, she’s a wonderful find. / Wonderful woman with hair so blue, / but she’s not me. Could she be you? / ____ / EXPERIMENTAL BECAUSE this is the first time I’ve drawn this li’l ole lady on a computer. I’ve drawn, painted, and loved her for many, many years on paper, and it was a bit different drawing her onscreen. Besides, with my little computer I had to draw her sideways, then flip her around and make corrections. LOL, obviously her pic was taken with a viewfinder camera, not an SLR, because her feet are cut off!
